The difference between 'Member' and 'member'

Is there any difference? I see it says 'member' under my username, while it says 'Member' under others. At first I thought it depends on how senior, so to speak, the person is but then I notice that even newly registered people are 'Member' with a capital 'M'.

Why is that?

I think you are worthy of being in the capital "M" category. I am sure if it can be fixed, a mod will take care of this little problem for you....

I know if i were a "writer" i'd be throwing a fit.
