Alot of the time while growing up (I am 20 now) when drifting off to sleep I would hear a buzzing noise in my head or a voice. Usualy someone saying my name 'Matthew'.
I believe I had my first concious Oobe last year while at my g/fs house, although it did not last long because I panicked and felt as if I was put back into my body. The second time was last week while my g/f was over again. This time however as I could feel myself leave my body something dark rushed past my head and spun me around. All I could see was a dark blur rush past me. After I had spun around I managed to wake up only finding myself to be falling straight back asleep and hearing the whoosing noise in my ear and having another oobe. This time coming out of my body and falling on the floor. For some reason I felt terrified and scared but again managed to wake myself up.
So, I was by myself yesterday I had been up all night and was trying to go to sleep when I heard a voice in my head say 'Im going to killl you', That really startled me and scared me but almost as soon as that was said I heard someone say the wierdest thing ever. 'So, your a stealthy unreciever eh?' the voice said. Am I going crazy? Was it just because I was tired?, or is there something more sinister going on here?

Oh and by the way the past couple of months I have been feeling down and recently been having alot of panic attacks.

Sorry for the long post. Matt.

edit::I would really like some help understanding whats going on.

Hi Matt
First of all this wasn't a long post you should see my thread, I seem to explain things in detail, so don't worry about yours it was perfect!
Oh by the way, your not alone on what you hear and the sound in your ears!
AlienHunter.com, says these are sign of ufo alien contact! So have you had a recent sighting? I did back when I was 20 had my first, and then numerous times afterwards, I'm talking sighting not abduction thank God, well Derrel Sims who is the man who has the web site I listed, also says many don't even remember if they were abducted they erase the memory etc. But I feel something so evil or horrific as that, I would think I would definitly remember!
But anyhow, I too hear whispering at night before bed, so have people who have slept over night, my son's & daughters friend, & my children have heard it as wel & my husband! Thank God for that at least I knew it wasn't only me!
I hate the sound in my ears the whooshing sound, been to a specialist when it first came, and at first he thought maybe tenaitus but ruled that out after further testing. He then said everything was fine! It drives me nuts, sometimes its louder than other times, mine sounds like a hipe pitch wooshing sound - its not a ringing or anything like that!
When I first started hearing the whispering I couldn't make out what they said, and I would say what did you say, and they were just like you said, very sinister, but not at first!
Thats what they want, first to get your attention, then to breed fear!
If you ignore they seem to bother you more so thats when I Pray - bind them if you know how to do that - they do get tired and leave if you ignore them, Plus they have to leave if you bind them! Its a Certain Type of prayer!
Anyhow, that and a lot of other things that happened to me in the wee hours of the night, progressed to the point that I sleep with My Bible right by My side and My using, knowing certain scriptures, & A lot of Faith in God, is what keeps me safe & them at bay!
But if you are not a believer in God like that, well there is many ways one can have victory & controll once again in one's life!
Words are Power no matter what Faith you believe! Commanding them though to go in Jesus Name of Course to me is Most Powerful! But like I said if your not a believe still Your Words Are Power- In the Spirit World, & Commanding them to go with Faith will bring Positive Results as Well!

Try using your words also Matt, with Controlling your Panic Attacks as well, like for instance, say " I command these panic attacks to leave me now, & I have controll, you will not controll me, I have nothing to fear" etc.
Well let me know if this at all helped you!
I will say a prayer tonight, that you have Peace!
Have a Nice Weekend Angel

When it comes to sleep depravation it can be quite altering to your senses.
Now I have had a hard time falling asleep all my life. When I was seventeen I really started to experiment with meditation and body and soul.I started to self study with full sleep depravation and rejuvination,in regards to energy intake. There are many ways to take in energy that surrounds us.At the time I barely knew what to do,well that is trivial.

As time has passed I have had to learn to meditate on many different levels of my own psychosis.

This crazy term makes sense in a world where lines are lines and pigs dont fly.Now I will not throw too many riddles out there.Let me say this.

We are human yes.but as far as what we are and what goes on in the human brain is very much undocumented.Hearing voices can be dangerous.
Even when we think though we have the potential of actualy hearing our own voice in our heads,Supposedly when we sleep many say that with the minds eye,or imagination also paired in some studies to the third eye.We
calculate and go over the memory stored in our brains producing dreams. Now that is one slant on this mind you.

When studying sleep depravation I found that many strange things can happen, remember that your senses create or pickup or just plain old sense what we see, feel, hear whatever. When you are not eating enough or sleeping enough or doing anything(drugs/alchohol too much coffee). You are altering your brainn patterns due to different chemical imbalances or fluxuations producing different effects.

Now I have not nearly enough information or study cases at my disposal to do great extensive studies on the connection between sleep depravation and oobes and psychosis, but here is another slant for you.

In my life I have never had much time and I have always had to try to rest but i cant sleep. In my many travels and studies I have been able to achieve an altered conciousness state,Similar to sleep paraylisis and oobe,But I can come and go as I please.Right from awake to my body sleeping mind awake,in this state I tend to do alot of my oobe but totaly aware that I am doing so.It is during this time I tend to try to rejuvinate as quickly as possible.

Anyway that was a mouthful.
More later my friend.
Scarecrow.

Thanks for the quick replys, really appreciate it. Although I believe in God I am not catholic and have never been baptised, I never go to church. I do pray to God ofte especially since the sinister voices. Maybe If things get worse I should get a bible.
Oh and another thing. When I close my eyes sometimes I see faces appearing in the black. Sometimes they seem like normal faces, other times they seem twisted, distorted and even demonic. I even get faces of the stereotypical greys appear there sometimes and that scares me. Scares me so much I usualy have to end up sleeping with the T.V or Light on. But im going to try not to let it get to me to much. Thanks Angel for the prayer and thanks again for both your posts, you've given me alot to think about.
Best wishes.
Matt.

Have you seen a doctor about this?

As for voices in your head, that can be scary.

Be careful about channelling and meditating, because it can do more harm than good of you don't know the proper techniques. They say that opening up your chakra, or whatever it is called, can be dangerous if you forget to close it. It is something to be learned, with caution. Trying to tap into the spirit world, by calling on them to help you, may be calling upon a good or bad spiriit. How do you know who it is you are letting in? If these bad (or good) spirits do exist, then they are waiting for invitations. Never give an invitation, meaning if you go about it the wrong way ...

If you find sleeping with a light on at night helpful, do it. It's great when you have nightmares or other problems with sleep and it is relatively inexpensive. Leaving the light on helps me wake up faster and realize that I have been dreaming. When you are sleep deprived it can also be helpful because it allows you to see better, it helps me see the difference between reality and a halucination that is the result of sleep deprivation or as I like to call it--dreaming with my eyes open. I often seem to be on the verge of sleep deprivation even when I sleep because I have a lack of deep sleep cycles so when I stay awake for 24 hours I do start to see things out of the corners of my eyes that I know are not real--it usually takes normal people a few days or more before they start to see things.

Self - hypnosis is a technique, like meditation that can help you get to sleep. I went to a doctor and lessons in his office to learn the technique--also they can evaluate you to see if it will be beneficial and if you are susceptible to the technique.

Just some sugguestions, I hope everything works out for you

Man, I am the worst with these kinds of things.

I do don't have buzzing noises or anything like that, but I am extremely paranoid at night, the fear stems from fear of being abducted by greys, I often tell my self they have no interest in me, that they can't enter my closed home, etc, but every little noise makes me sit straight up in bed and I have to make sure nothing is there, I sleep with a weapon close to me, I try to sleep with medication (Tylenol PM only makes my paranoia worse).

sometimes I try to raise my spiritual energy and try to make my self more aware and powerful feeling, this sometimes helps.

God help the grey that wants to take me at night, they would be in for a rough ride if they didn't paralyze me!

I usually stay up till 3:30~4am at night, that's when I finally start feeling safe, usually I lay down and try to sleep with my wife for and hour or two, and when the fear gets too bad I get up and distract my self, either playing a game or visit message boards, sometimes chatting on my instant messengers.

I hear voices all the time, I call it my inner self, I learned alot from it, the OoBE might be a hostile spirit trying to possess you, this occurs when your aura isn't closed, usually a spiritual medium knows how to close it, I taught my self how to do it, I used to have a spiritual hitchhiker, it drew ALOT of energy from me and I believe most of my depression stemmed from when that entity was with me, it wasn't until a medium sent it packing and closed up my aura for me that I started feeling better.

My wife also had some "friends" around here, a shadow ghost would often feed her negative thoughts and haunt her, funny enough she saw it leave her once when she took her anti-depressants.

Buzzing noises and voices usually could be a signal for a starting OOBE.

What's odd is the second sentence you heard... the first one could simply be your mind translating in words your uneasiness with OOBE (you said that during your first and second OOBE you got scared and went back in your body).

But that second one... either it's some kind of message your mind is trying to give you, maybe trying to help you not to be afraid of OOBEs, or else i don't really have a clue!!!

You should give a look at William Buhlman's books... i dunno how many books he has written, but there are two expecially about OOBEs (i don't know their title in english, but it should be quite self explanatory), and maybe they could help you, or at least give you some good insights...

Yes I have been to the doctor and briefly mentioned the voices. He gave me anti depressants which I still have not taken as I feel uncomfortable and dont want to rely on a pill to not feel depressed. I tried meditating a few times and maybe I didnt mention this before but the first time I Oobe I asked for help to get out of my body when the wooshing noise came. Maybe something bad helped me out and is now around me?

My sister and I have a similar affliction, she has had hers checked and they labelled it a term similar to "Phantom Dialogue" I don't exactly remember the term.

While very tired and settling down to sleep, or on the verge of sleep while trying to remain conscious, I often hear internally, conversation snippets that seem out of context and in no particular order. Also 75% of the time during this phantom dialogue, the sentences said make very little sense like the things you have heard. "I went to the park, bubblegum sheep herder."

I also notice that when it does happen, if I have spent a good amount of time with someone during the day, these dialogues are often in the voice of the person whom I had been with.

I think that it is merely an information sorting function of the brain, as it's conscious state shuts down for the night, the subconscious revvs up to process everything while you sleep.

Personally I have always treated it as a harmless quirk, it has little perceptable effect on my life, and at this point I'm 28 and have grown so used to it that I don't even really notice or acknowledge it unless it says something particularly funny or strange.

On that same subject of me feeling that this is a subconcious information sorting and compiling, I often get my best creative juices flowing during these half asleep periods. I write and come up with ideas based upon these intrusive creative thoughts, not the dialogue as an inspiritation but the hazy half-baked mindset that exists during the in between asleep and awake.

So in closing, oobe's aside, this voice phenomena in my and my sisters experience is harmless, but at least it's interesting.

Best of Luck,

-ADHDsux4me

I thought everyone had this when they drift off to sleep... never knew it was called "phantom dialogue". Interesting fact!

I would't be too worried about it Nerf. Most of the time I get strange, nonsensical (sp) sentsances, often in familiar voices (my own, my mums etc.) but sometimes there's the odd disturbing ones ("your dead/I'll cut you/etc"). As ADHDsux4me says, its probably ur brain filtering through the last bits and bobs before you drop off to sleep. I get it when I'm juuuuuust on the verge of sleep...

Nothing like a random voice saying "crustation backwards, yesterday?" to make u chuckle before you drop off to sleep

Hello Nerf
I posted this on another thread too, but thought you might get some help from it also!
you might find this interesting! Check todays Coast to Coast web site onwww.coasttocoastam.com...
Astral Travel & Spirit Attacks - By Albert Taylor has a short write up of the reason behind the Attacks!
This is Alberts Web Site, But first read the write up on Coast -
www.alberttaylor.com...
The guest speaker talks about sleep paralysis showing that it is not what people think, but that is from obe Astral Travel, and when in the Astral plane, their are I think he said 3 levels or possibly more, don't quote me on how many, but he did say that the first level is where many evil beings reside and attack many of us!
He said many of us go Astral and not even know it or remember it! But almost always one remembers that when they awake being paralized and are in fear because of not having answers! He also shows how one can bypass this by gaining knowledge of how to protect one self! I haven't read all of it yet on his site - but wanted to get this to you so you would be able to have some answers right away! Hope This Helps Everyone!

I feel the same! At least once or twice a month, I hear my name being called as I drift off to sleep. It scared me when I was a kid, but now, I just take it sign that I am extremely tired.

I like the idea that this phantom dialogue is the brain's way of working through the day's events.

If there is truth to this, I may have had more astral projections than I thought. Sleep paralysis is something I've experienced several times. The one time I had a conscious astral projection, I saw something on my bedroom ceiling and crashed back into my body immediately.

I have only had this sort of thing happen once. I was laying down on my bed resting until supper was ready, and I heard a woman's voice say "Love has been given to you". It was strange, but it didn't seem threatening at all, and I just sort of brushed it off. If it said something about killing you, I'd be worried though.

Toraylin, Once Again you share such indepth information, Thanks much appreciated! Could you help me with obtaining something please?
How may I also rejuvinate myself in that dream state? How inspiring, how refreshing that would be, instead of waking up exhausted from battling things in my dreams, which seems to be ongoing at times!
I would be so thankful if you could show me how!
Thanks Angel

I can identify with some of your experiences.. Do you know if you sense a presence with you. and when it approaches there is a buzzing sound in your mind, and a feeling of anxiety...the closer it gets. In addition, have you had any traumatic events has a child, and if so have you ever seen anything like levitating light (About the size of a baseball)_ that gave off no light?
