No, not our Springer--Jerry Springer! The cheerleaders at Sarasota High School, who host a dance each year, were looking for a local celebrity to host their dance, so they chose Jerry Springer, who happens to live in Sarasota.

The talk show host had accepted an invitation from the school's cheerleaders to headline the "Hollywood Nights" dance Saturday.

But administrators withdrew the invitation Wednesday, saying that Springer, whose TV guests include unfaithful lovers and brawling friends, was not an appropriate role model for students.

Jerry Springer, who is a Tulane University graduate, was once featured in "The Tulanian" with his visage on the cover. The alumni pretty much went nuts, claiming that of all the Tulane graduates to be featured in "The Magazine of Tulane University," Springer shouldn't have been one of them. Well, what can you say about a politician who got busted hiring prostitutes because he paid one off with a check? Some role model, he is. :bash:
