Can't Reply to a Certain Thread

Also, on the New Posts list, this thread shows 1 reply. In fact it's had 3 for some time.

What's up with that?

For whatever reason, it's locked. Mods usually reply when they lock a thread, but not always.

I wonder if this was connected at all to the thread that gave mysterious mod powers?

Perhaps someone is trying to find a way to edit ATS in real time, if necessary to control the outflow of possibly sensitive material? That would be the goal of whom? Anyone trying to control information on the internet I guess.



Could it be a perfectly legal (though ethically questionable) test of new powers granted under patriot act legislation? Isn't information control of prime importance in the WoT? Presumably the powers were granted to be used.

I could be reaching here, but something seems to be going on.

Other than the last reply, that thread was three years old.

There a few anomalies like that in such ancient threads if you look all the way back to the beginning. I have no clue why, but I've seen it before re: the amount of replies etc.
