How do I get points?!!!

How do some users get there huge amounts of points? Is it just from writing a lot in their posts? Have they been members for years? Or is there some secret to getting some coz mine are pretty low...

Could a moderator please inform me as to how points are awarded,etc as well.

I think it's 2500.....

You don't need any points to display an Avatar. Just enter the image (max 160x320 75k) url in your member profile.

Whats the 2500 points for a background image? Is that something different?

Yes the background image costs 2500 points and can be purchased in the ATS store.
