I was about about ten years old when this experience happened in 1984 or so.

Well, this story takes place in a farm house, out in the middle of no where. It is about thirty years older than the Civil War.

Okay, so we lived in that house and my dad was going to check the attic, since nobody in my family has never seen it. So he went up there, nothing was in there.

Then about a year later, my dad was going to start putting stuff up there for storage so he got his tools and when he opened the attic door, there was a Christmas tree. Not a fake plastic one but a genuine one. It was just standing there leaning against the wall. NO ONE WAS UP THERE AT ALL! My dad was the only one that ever went up there and this was only the second time.

Then a third time the next year or so, me and him went up, we forgot about the tree and we were going to put a box or two up there full of my sisters toys. The Christmas tree was gone and then four old matresses were there.

Anyone wanna tell me what they think it was? It was scary as hell!

Ok that sounds pretty creepy...

is there anyway someone could have been hiding up there...

any history that you know of in that house??

was the items ie the xmas tree decorated with any thing strange or different, something that might give away the time period,

That's a really strange experience. My first guess, due to the size of objects, would be that some bum was hanging in your attic.
Perhaps there was an alternative route into the attic? I suppose these items could have been placed by ghosts, but that would be EXTREMELY weird. How old do you suppose those mattresses were? Either way, I don't know how someone could place objects of that size in your house without your knowledge.

Yeah, it is very creepy. There were no windows in the attic. Just the way to get in. And no one could break into our house since, first of all, the door were locked, and we have a dog that would bite my friend's ass just for walking ten feet from our yard.

The matresses age? They were dirty and such, they looked pretty old. Dad says looks like old military cods from the Civil War.

And no, there were not any decorations at all on that tree.

Oh by the way, at that same house, (this is strange, but has nothing to do with ghosts) I invited my friends over for some midnight paintball. After everyone went to bed we got out of our sleeping bags and went outside with our guns.

In the sky, there was a cigar shaped thing over our field. This thing was friggin huge! We tried to wake my parents up but they wouldn't wake up. We kicked them and pushed, but not any success in waking them.

Then after everyone went to sleep about a week later, my mom, dad and brother went outside and saw these six or seven strange lights hovering where the cigar shaped thing was. They woke me and my sister and my other brother up and we watched for about an hour as they changed formation from a triangle to a square.

Then another time, (i gotta say this is the most creepiest) my brother was outside with his girlfriend, and he walked her to her car and she left. Then he saw a cigar shaped thing (as he described it) hovering over our chicken house. When he went over there, all the nails were pulled out of the roof. Not all the way, but just pulled out about two or three inchs.
The nails were in OAK and rusted with about one hundred years with age, there was no way a human could take those damn things out!
No matter how many times we tried to hammer the nails back in, they wouldn't budge AT ALL.

And strangely at night (after the tree and matress incident), the dog wouldn't even come inside the house at all. He stayed outside and never came inside since then.

Then of course, we moved out. WAY TOO CREEPY!

Anyone else think that house is stranger than hell?

Anything regarding cigar shaped objects and lights in the sky I immediately consider UFOs/flying saucer activity. Those objects are certainly not ghosts, but does make for an interesting UFO sighting.

I was thinking about the UFOs for being extra terrestrial beings, but I want to know if the tree and bed have any connection whatsoever with the flying objects I saw.

Maybe someone put it up there when all you family went out, you might have not locked the doors and windows properly.

come to think of it thats a stupid reason isnt it?

I don't think anybody lives in that house right now. Maybe?

I was talking in a few MSN chat rooms and I talked to someone I actually knew in Koshkonong (location of that house). They said they had a few strange experiences in their house and they saw strange lights around their fields.

Hmmm...

I lived an old civil war era house....within a week of moving in things began to happen, laying in bed one night still awake I felt a presence but could see nothing, but something was there. A day later in the same room a loud crash on the wall awoke me still nothing there, went outside nothing there either. A week or so later in a long hallway heard footsteps as though high heels being dragged, and faint whispers that sort of sounded like Mommy. Then finally my son who knew nothing of my experiences said to have actually seen a little girl in the hallway one night wearing grown-up high heels. I myself never saw the girl but heards noises, voices, but eventually everyone living there had some sort of interaction with this spirit or whatever it was. Lived there for quite sometime and these experiences continued till we moved, she became known to us as Little Girl Lost. Something about those Civil War homes!

No, not seeing someone, I mean objects like in my house. Christmas trees, matresses? Did your son, you or anyone else see something like that in your old Civil War house?
