The US and Russian presidents have called on Iran and North Korea to stop their suspected nuclear weapons programmes.
President Bush said the two leaders shared a common goal - "to make sure that Iran doesn't have any nuclear weapon or a nuclear weapons programme".

Russia's President Putin said they wanted to send "a clear but respectful signal to Iran" to increase its co-operation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) which oversees nuclear non-proliferation.

well this looks to me as not just a warning, but a final warning to Iran. We could see another war before christmas, but i pray that we don't. Too much blood has been spilt in the last year, we don't need anymore.

Sit down and talk around the table, don't let weapons do the talking.

Yep, reminds me of Bush and Blair warning Saddam. It is probably less of a request, and more a fore-warning of attacks by us.

Also, for some reason, seeing Putin in that black Polo neck sent shivers down my spine, I don't know why........felt creepy

Yeah, one should allways remember that Mr.Putin is KGB / FSB.. so he does know what is good and what is not..

It could well be that the Russian WMD techs sold to Iran had nothing to do with the Russian gov. but were sold by 'business men' illegaly.. during Yeltsin era.. (aka Mafia..)

And now that the Mr.Putin ex-Colonel of KGB and ex-director of FSB is in the 'controls' the Russians will start to behave..

And will no more sell these kinds of things around..

there was last week in our (Finland) national TV (Finn gov. channel..) much talk about one book that was published, and what claimed that the FSB is in control of almost everything in Russia today.. like the KGB once was..

And FSB people know that one doesnt # around with dangerous things like these..

The first thing that came to mind when I saw him walking aloft with that Polo neck was "That man has too much power". He looks like a Mafia Godfather........it can't be a good thing for the rest of the World, can it?
Mind you, it was better than what Bush looked like - A retired petrol station attendant

Just a side note.. remember Putins visit to Japan..

He 'did' some Yudo there..

How many other presidents do things like those?

(Finnish presidend UKK (ex-military man also, and he did rule Finland for 25 years.. makes me wonder if the democrazy was lost for a while then..) did climp to a palm tree while in visit in Tunisia.. but even this is a far cry when compared to Putin..

(Urho Kaleva Kekkonen President of Finland from-to: 1 Mar 1956 - 27 Jan 1982)

Quite a long time..

Better make sure those Iranians don't have anything they can use to defend themselves when they realise the big fellas are taking advantage of their resources now, yep.

I'm not a fan of russia but :

By protecting the former president Boris "Yellsin" ( not sure of the spelling sorry if it's wrong ) he contribued to protect the democracy in Russia wich is not a easy thing, so I think it's a great man and he deserve more respect then that.

uNBaLaNCeD,

Lets change our views this much:

We will no longer support 3rd world nations for their 'mission' to get WMD:s

But, now we say and think that NOBODY shouldnt have them as they are pure madness.

Really, there shouldnt be any nukes around.. in the whole planet.

I agree, the only way is down when countrys compete with weapons of this caliber. NObody needs a nuclear bomb, it is unfathomable how someone could use one. It was a mistake, Einstein is spinning in his grave.

War is illogical, but Nuclear Bombs are far more so

Ok,

My bad..

But i still think that Yeltsin needs the cure that i mentioned.

And btw, Putin has nothing to do with 'democrazy' and it isnt a bad thing.. as the Russians do need their 'strong man' or they will be like 'living in a barn'..

If you get my meaning?

I get your meaning, but I still think that russian is a great people and they deserve democracy after all the suffering and # they lived

I need to find a pic of Yeltsin dancing polka with a bottle of vodka, would be a reat wallpaper

I agree with you that yeltsin was not a great president and that he was corrupted, but it was a begining.

There is no chance of a war before christmas, unless of a major terrorist attack.

What do you guys think it would do to Bush's hopes of re-election if he went and started another war just as everyone is starting to realise what a terrible mistake the last war was.

There will be no war before christmas, but maybe sanctions.

Russia's President Putin is definately a strong man who is trying to get rid of corruption throughout Russia.

His revamping of the Kremlina nd clearing it of corruption has been one of his major successes.

And he's trying to get corporations out of Russian politics as much as he can and one of the Rothschild isn't liking it one bit.

Putin, refuses to stop the planned construction of a nuclear power plant by his country, for Iran! He's asking them to conform to world norms one the one side, and suppling them with the know how and means to develop weapons grade fusion materials. It wont wash

And it will wash,it always does.
This is how the powers that be do business,it isn't about anything but money, the US invaded Iraq to gain control of a bunch of oil reserves, the russians had their eye on it before the invasion,so did France and a bunch of others,Now the Russians will supply the Iranians with the equipment and technology to defend themselves from a US invasion, backed by the Russians who are saying they hold an interest in Iran's oil assets by helping iran build nuclear capability,if the reactors and enrichment facilities are being built to actually make electricity you can imagine how the Russians could benefit from Iran using less oil for powerplants,right?..
The US would have to be nuts to attack Iran like they did Iraq. The Soviet union never really went bankrupt like they say they did,if Iran is attacked by the US ,the current mess in Iraq will look like a walk in the park in comparison.
