POLITICS: Bush Picks Alito For Supreme Court

One of the best things that could happen in this country would be if moderate conservatives and republicans wrested control of their party away from the grover norquist/james dobson extremists. they are ruining the party and they are going to create a mess in this country that will take decades (if ever) to clean up. I have no problem with either conservatives or republicans even though generally we disagree...it is the anti-tax and religious/social extremists I have issue with and Bushes dangerous catering to these essentially anti-democratic elements. Unfortunately Bush is kowtowing to what is even in his own party, a minority, muchless the rest of the country and this Alito nomination, if it goes through will not benefit the country, just the base which is a real pity. When the history books are written these past few years will go down as among the most perlious in our nations history and islamic terrorists had nothing to do with it. The damage is all self inflicted and internal.

The religous right did, and it was chosen by Dobson with the seal of approved of the family coaltion.
