at first glance the issue is pretty straight forward - IMHO there is no place in a civilized society for such material

the question has come up this week as [ in the uk ] it has been revealed that ISPs do not have a uniform public policy on this issue

the first thing that struck me - is they may be blocking the sites covertly , to make it harder to circumvent thier measures

of course freedom of speech advocates point to such measures as the " thin end of the wedge "

and i sort of agree - NOT that i think that child porn should be availiable to anyone , rather who is deciding that a given site is to be blocked , and why

if i ran the zoo - i would add barney the dino to the banned list , which is why i am not allowed to make such desicions

Yea, it stops people from going to jail. But, they can still download the images on the internet and can illegally purchase the pictures and videos
