President George Bush has announced in a memorandum sent to US Secretary of State Condaleezza Rice that he was waiving restrictions which would
effectively have closed the Palestinian Organizations US Office and frozen all their assets. In the memorandum he stated "I hereby determine and
certify that it is Us Secretary of State Condaleezza Rice important to the national security interests of the United States to waive the
provisions,"

US President George W. Bush waived restrictions that otherwise would have closed the Palestinian Liberation Organisation's offices in Washington and
frozen the group's funds.
The move enables the PLO to keep open its Washington office and have access to funds in US banks. Without it, the PLO offices would be closed and US
banks would have to bar access to the group's money.

Mr Bush has a history of waiving sanctions for the PLO. A notorious organization that often was at the root of terrorism. Over the past few years he
has waived many of the goups restrictions that were formerly in place. I do wonder at the long term results of this move.
