***This forum is intended to facilitate the JT Research Project.
If you have questions or comments about JT, please post to the original thread.***

www.abovetopsecret.com...

With ktprktpr accepting a new job, this project seems to have defaulted to me.
I'm not sure I want the lead here so if someone's looking to make ATS history,
here's your chance. We need to assess who can contribute what.

All those that have shown an interest, could you please indicate which
topics you may be interested in contributing by posting here. Please be as
specific and realistic as you can about your potential contribution. .

I see the division of labor looking like this:

Catalog
Continue to catalog where ktprktpr left off. He's done excellent work so far.

Abstract
An abstract that is 500(?) words or less.

Timeline
A timeline graphic depicting all of the major events of the JT saga.

Commentary
We need a pro and con statement for the following topics:

JT's version of time travel and quantum physics.
JT. A hoax or not?
Political Predictions.
Mad Cow Predictions.
IBM 5150 unique abilities.
Unix 2038 calendar.
JT's photographic evidence.
1998 Email test.
Art Bell fax test.

I suggest these as merely a starting point. Please post other topics I've overlooked.

History
Any relevant historical background on IBM, CERN and any other pertinent institutions.

Links
List all links pertinent to JT's story.

All those that have shown an interest, could you please indicate which
topics you may be interested in contributing by posting here.

Please be as specific and realistic as you can about your potential contribution.

Also worthwhile to link here to the thread that started it all, that was readable on the Richter scale and heading towards Seismic proportions:

I hope that THIS particular thread stays totally focussed on inputs from the research team, and occasional valid questions or comments from observers.

I'm going to go off on a limb and say he was a fraud. Why give us a prediction so far into the future. He should of predicted 10 baseball games and then left. Thats what I would do if I was trying to warn humanity of their future.

I share your hope MA. We need to see who's willing to do what. The fate of ATS's first research thread depends on it.

Thanks for posting the link, quite an oversight on my part.

This isnt exact proof that he was a fraud however look at the car he used in training, it was built in the 70's how many cars like that would be around 60 years later.

It was a '69 Camaro, or Corvette. That wasn't really clear. I saw both claims, but never saw JT actually say which it was. It was supposedly purchased from a car show, and was in nearly mint condition. The idea was to find a vehicle that would not draw too much attention for the time period. (1975)

Come on people. Where the hell is the support for this project?????

Here is what I offer. I am being realistic. I would offer more, but to do so would potentially put me in a situation to look bad.

What I will offer is a multitude of links related to the research. I have many cached already, and have visited many others.

What my plea is here, is to get someone who can be a focused lead for the project. Anyone that has any intrest PLEASE get involved with the project. It is already to a point where something has to be done before it's terminated.

If this guy was a hoaxer, he was good. If he is real, the info MUST be gathered and distibuted.

I would offer more to the project, but due to time costraints from my career, I cannot PROMISE anything. So realistically, I will contribute links, and will further contribute anything that I have time for.

Lets make this first ATS project a successful project.

Thank you IAP for some input. I'm willing to tackle several of those topics but I do not want the whole load.

Come on folks! William is going to shut this down if we don't start hearing from people.

Thanks Kukla. I am glad you are still willing to do this. I would gladly take project lead and do it all myself if I had the time. But I commute an hour to work and an hour home, and work 50 hours+ per week. Add the ten from commuting, and I barely have time for my family. Luckily, I have internet access at work to post and view ATS.

I will get the links gathered up just in case.

by this man and have concluded he is a hoax. He never gives any real specific information and when asked how his machine works he could not go into detail because he was "just a pilot". Well, according to me, this type of travel would require a good amount of technical expertise, while he does seem educated enough to give basic information regarding the dual gravity singularities, I would think that he would have to have certain prerequisites in order to board the machine. If his time machine broke down, he wouldn't even know how to fix it. While an astronaut has to know how to fix what's broken, I guess time travelers' don't.

Another reason why I don't believe him is the fact he DIDN'T say who the president would be in 2004-2008. I do agree with him that there may in fact be some type of American revolution by 2008 but that would be brought on by the U.S. Gov't restricting more and more of our freedoms.

While I do want to help out, I'm afraid I wouldn't have a clue on where to start in organizing everything JT said. I've already provided some info to ktprktpr, in which he's incorporated into his database. I don't really know much about creating databases, unfortunately. Do you now have this, Kukla?
IAP, I'm sure any links you have will be appreciated. There's always a chance we've missed something.

I'm goign with fraud, especially after following the posts by Darby et al, and RGB. Why on earth come back for an old computer, virtual machines could be coded up with less hassle.

P.s. if you need webspace to host the results, or anything else, justlet me know, I've got a website called www.subgeniux.com which I don't use, but could set up a sub-domain for you.

OK.

I have started working on my list of links to JT related sites. These will be compiled by me after I have a chance to rate their relevency. Each one will be rated 1 - 4, 1 being most relevent. Anything worse than 2 will be dropped. I am expecting about 15 links total.

I have also, at the request of Kukla, been looking into the "Unix 2028" problems (more likely the 2038 problem..... more to come on that). I will have a list of roughly 5 good links and a small reports of the problem. This will be done by midweek next week.

i found a news archive review of john titor by somethingawful.com

Awful Link of the Day

John Titor - Time Traveler (thanks Id Hit It...) - One of the greatest things about this system of global interconnectivity we call the internet is that it creates a forum in which people feel that they can come forward without fear of embarrassment or ridicule. I'm sure that is why John Titor, time traveler from the year 2036, decided that his message would be best heard online.
Although there is debate over the exact date it started, on November 02, 2000, a person calling themselves Timetravel_0, and later John Titor, started posting on a public forum that he was a time traveler from the year 2036.

One of the first things he did was post pictures of his time machine and its operations manual. As the weeks went by, more and more people began questioning him about why he was here, the physics of time travel and his thoughts about our time. He also posted on other forums including the old Art Bell site. In his posts John Titor entertained, angered, frightened and even belittled those who engaged him in conversation.

On March 24, 2001, John Titor told us he would be leaving our time and returning to 2036. After that, he was never heard from again. Speculation and investigation about who John Titor was and why he was online continues to this day.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with "the old Art Bell site," Art got a kick out of letting society's most insane nutcases spew their attention-grubbing claptrap to their hearts' content. John's greatest talent, which I'm sure is genetically engineered in the future, is to create an air of plausible deniability. If he predicts something and it comes true, it's because he's from the future and knows all! If he predicts something and it goes wrong, it's because this "worldline" is slightly different from his own. But what's most important about John's visit to the past is his harrowing vision of things to come.

There is a civil war in the United States that starts in 2005. That conflict flares up and down for 10 years. In 2015, Russia launches a nuclear strike against the major cities in the United States (which is the "other side" of the civil war from my perspective), China and Europe. The United States counter attacks. The US cities are destroyed along with the AFE (American Federal Empire)...thus we (in the country) won. The European Union and China were also destroyed. Russia is now our largest trading partner and the Capitol of the US was moved to Omaha Nebraska.

So there's a civil war in America in which the country folk rise up against the fiendish city slickers. Russia, obviously being a part of this civil war, decides to launch nukes at the U.S., China, and Europe as a whole. Rather than obliterating every square inch of Russia with a nuclear response, the U.S. decides to forget about the smoldering craters that were once Europe and China and ally with the nation that just launched the most devastating attack in the history of mankind against them. Since the massive nuclear strikes obviously have no impact on the planet's ecosystem and nuclear winter turns out to just be some peacenik hoax, the surviving Americans have no trouble converting to a farm based nation of treetop villages. Despite the loss of three billion lives worldwide, things return to normal almost immediately, and within another twenty years, the scientists who have nothing to do, since determining a way to keep all biological life on the planet functioning and finding cures for the myriad forms of radiation sicknesses aren't even on their agenda, perfect time travel. Man, it's a good thing all of those brilliant scientists and their labs were all based out in the open country, nowhere near any of the major cities, or they might not have been able to send some randomly chosen guy back in time to chat on the internet!

The site archives all of John's chat messages to the people of the past, as well as offering commentary on every word he ever wrote as possible predictions. You see, John was apparently the most cryptic person who ever lived, and everything he ever said was a clue about some major event.

Is it possible that John Titor warned us of an impending asteroid strike before 2014?

From the CNN article:

www.cnn.com...

"Asteroid '2003 QQ47' will be closely monitored over the next two months. Its potential strike date is March 21, 2014, but astronomers say that any risk of impact is likely to decrease as further data is gathered."

On February 26, 2001 - John Titor was asked about the date of his departure:
"I'm guessing the date of your return to the future is April 19th."

JOHN: That is a day to remember but I was thinking more along the lines of March 21.

Was this John's way of warning us? Did he give the date of an asteroid impact in 2014 that would precede a civil war in 2015?

My guess is no. Now, I'm no expert, so I'm only hazarding this guess because of the tiny little fact that if QQ47 struck the Earth, there wouldn't be three billion people left to kill with all those nukes. Little things like the apocalyptic extinction of all human life tend to make nuclear war a tad less necessary.

I could do the comentary on theories about time travel and quantum physics if nobody has taken that yet. I estimate that I could write a meaningful comment over the weekend, delivered to you on sunday evening.

What do I do with this stuff when I am done??? I remember reading somewhere that you have to have permission to post on the RESEARCH topics. Do I send it to the project lead or what???? Let me know.

Currently out of town on business, so my online time is sporadic at best, but I'd be interesting at looking at pointing out various shortfalls in the story, particularly the mechanics of time travel, and pointing out inconsistencies. I realize that my return time (next Sunday), may mean I can't contribute, but I will still point out what I can upon my return home...

Thanks...

Paperclip and Gazrok,

Thanks for your offer folks. Darby has offered to contribute in this area as well, but I have not heard from her in some time. We've decided to take a debate style to JT's story. Would you feel comfortable writing in support or disclaiming time travel?

sectorGaza,

Thanks! I'll make sure that gets added to the catalog. Yes the asteroid is another seemingly correct prediction by JT..

I'm definitely more on the debunking side of this one... As for asteroid predictions, gee, I remember a killer asteroid being predicted every year for at least the past decade.....

But, I'll save it for the details...
