If you want to see news reports of TS Rita, I'll go to CNN. 5 minutes into the first video, still no mention of anything resembling "blue lightning"

blue and green lightning is just a transformer blowing... jeeze louise, you would think these reporters know what to expect from a hurricane/tropical storm by now.

as for the rest of it....well you can see signs where ever you want to see them and individuals connects dots in many different ways when there's no numbers to guide them.
