in melbourne, australia, petrol rose to $1.40. a litre

thats about equvelent to U.S. $4.25 a gallon i think

you know what the crazy part about this is?

Australia gets all its crude oil from Australia, and it is refined in australia

the war and the hurricane and every thing else should have no effect on the price of petrol in aus!

I remember only in the last 5-6 years it was down to 60cents a litre, now its $1.40... what a joke.. Talk about exploitation hey...

This is incorrect. Australia imports a huge amount of oil. Our's is "light" and we import "heavier" crude, which is better suited for some refined products.

Considering oil per barrel is the same price worldwide, it amazes me how people let governments rape them over gas tax.

They won't being collecting that gas tax if the economy dumps either.

Makes me wonder if it's a global cabal to stick it to "joe consumer" or the planet is run by economic illiterates.
