JERUSALEM, Sept. 2 Israeli Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz said on Tuesday he favoured expelling Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, possibly by the end of the year, because he was obstructing U.S.-led peace moves.

I think that something seriously bad is going to happen over there soon. There maybe major acts of genocide. Let's pray that some how this can be sorted out.

Not sure how expelling the dirtbag will lead to genocide. Anyways it was agreed ages ago that Mr. Arafat will not be expelled because that would lead to an Arafat world tour which no one in the Israeli government thinks would be beneficial. Not gonna happen.

Hey, is MSNBC part of that Israeli owned media you were talking about earlier?

Interestingly this was written Nov 7 2002 by a "Dr. Uri Davis"

With a de facto transitional government in Israel, a government not accountable to parliament and immune against votes of no confidence, headed by Ariel Sharon as prime minister, Shaul Mofaz as minister of defence and Binyamin Netanyahu as foreign minister - we can only expect the worst.

This war criminal leadership is a leadership hoping that, under the cover of the US attack on Iraq, it will be given an opportunity to complete today the crime against humanity of mass expulsion of the Palestinian people

Could the building of "the wall" be the first step in this process?

It is interesting that Noam Chomsky stated the following with regard to the 1982 Lebanon situation:

Typically, it is Israel's anguish that we must respect when still more Palestinians are killed in an unprovoked Israeli terrorist attack

I'm worried that you are right. There are clear acts of terrorism occuring on both Israeli and Palestinian territories. I believe that enough children have died, this needs to stop on both sides.

Israeli owned media? Please elaborate!!!!!!

Microsoft is a co-owner of MSNBC with NBC (which is owned by GE). The GE "family" also includes CNBC, which has a business relationship with the Dow Jones Company, owner of the Wall Street Journal.

www.tsmmedia.com...

Microsoft and GE are Israeli controlled? I can't seem to find any evidence (have only searched for a few minutes on it though). If anyone has any, please post it!

Well here's the link to the media post I made earlier. Not sure where Israel is mentioned as an owner in that entire thing.

MSNBC is mentioned but no Israel owned media I'm afraid.

Better luck next time.

Better luck? No, this is fine.

You said earlier that the Palestinian-Arab cause was under-reported because "they" owned the media. That's why you're trying to "even the scales". I'm just looking at how much of the media is not Israeli owned.

So MSNBC is one, can we assume that NBC and CNBC are not Israeli owned as well?

Well, he'd be a lot easier to kill and NOT look like an Isreali attack if he were out of the country....

Yes I did use the word "own" but it was a figure of speech, although I should've elaborated on that so that's my bad, and I shall do so now.

As you should know the vast majority of the media is owned by the same few corporations. As you should also know the same people who own these corporations are also deeply involved in the US military and government of the USA. Israels relationship with with the US corporate/military/government is rock solid, and they have been doing business for years. This is a relationship goes so deep we don't know how deep that is. Their is a lot of mutual back-scratching between these two parties, and a lot of money to be made.
Now do you think that the Us corporate/military/government is really going to let this relationship be ruined by letting one of their outlets (the media) print some very unfavourable stories about Israel? I think not.

To get an example of how bad the media is censored about talking about Israel check out this link.

www.ccmep.org...

This is why Israel control the US media. I used the word owned as a figure of speech as I believe Israel own the American government (again a figure of speech), but you were not to know that so I regret the misunderstanding and I hope this clears it up.

I am just doing some more research now and hope to provide you with lots more links between US/Israel/Media connection. I hope this does for now.

The media bias issue is an old one. You can find anything on the net, but you have to be able to use some scepticism to filter out the crap. For example, rense.com, electronicintifada.net and wrmea are all biased sources, publishing things that have little or no connection to the truth.

Mycroft, what are you talking about?

How could a domain with a name like electronicintifada be biased? The name indicates to me a warm friendly neutral news source that has a strong desire to report only proven corroborated news stories!
