Below is a link to a report by Turkish online newspaper Zaman. They are currently covering the trial of Luai Sakra, apparently no.5 in the "Al-Qaeda" network.

Is this the first occurence of a mainstream press report linking Al-Qaeda to secret intelligence services?

Al-Qaeda, a Secret Service Operation?

Countries facing the al-Qaeda threat are awaiting the intelligence Turkish security is to provide. Amid the smoke from the fortuitous fire emerged the possibility that al-Qaeda may not be, strictly speaking, an organization but an element of an intelligence agency operation.

I think they may have something there...

On the other hand i heard something interesting the other night, some seem to think "Al Qaeda" is really a Russian operation...Who knows?
Maybe one day soon we will all find out the true origin of what i think may very well be a mythical operation.
