Dont get offended by these but these are photos sent to me from my friend in Singapore. I have researched these for the last week and I cant find anything on her....Whatta think? Is it real or Is it Memorex?
If anyone can find any info I would be happy to know if
she really is real.

Thats some crazy messed up stuff

It looks kinda of fake. But I'm not sure why. The picture looks like the person who got hold of this 'thing' tried to cook it in an oven.

The hair doesn't look genuine, looks abit synthetic. Also the eyes are a bit 'off'

I think its fake but still ...

cook it in an oven!!

The only thing I noticed that didnt appear to be real was the hair. It looks glued on.

Maybe thats what happens when one tries to cook a mermaid.

They're called "chimeras" and are "mummies" produced for the novelty trade.

Basically, it's a sewn together (and mummified) fish and monkey. P.T. Barnum had one he showed for years.

Someone has added the eyes because if it really was mummified or decomposed the eyes would be gone for sure.

I've never seen anything like it, but I'm sure if somethign like that was really found it would create much more media than it has (none).

I agree witht he above post that it has been created.

He is exactly correct....
P.T. Barnum used to exhibit a similar one as a mermaid often. One also resides in one or more of the Ripley's Museums. Once, travelling sideshows made quite a profit (i.e. before radio and tv) showing such curiousities to an uneducated, but fascinated public. This is simply another such relic....

In Ripley's Believe It or Not, they have close to the same piece as shown above. It's the remains of a stuffed fish body and the skeletal remains of half a monkey.

Something a bit fishy about this one. Not exactly Daryl Hannah or Ariel now is it.

You know I thought about it and did some more research on this and its true it is a Chimera.
It is really not anything but some man made creation.
No its not Daryl or Ariel

But it looked pretty interesting when I came across it.
