Plan for earth evacuation???

Just look at Mt. Weather, if you're curious as to a backup plan... A whole government ready to go, just add disaster.... There are no plans to save the public at large though...just select citizens...including the workers needed to support them...

As far as an evac plan, you may have heard of the Alternative 3, etc. as it regards the elite planning to leave Earth when the # hits the fan... Personally, I believe that pieces of the Alternative mythos are correct, but as a whole, it is fiction...

Mt Weather is one of the Phase II Bunkers, the newer Phase III Bunkers are FAR better prepared! Much larger and deeper, able to support thousands for years at a time.

I do agree, we normal joe on the street will stand a snowballs chance in hell of survival in the face of a major worldwide catastrophic event, while the fat cats are nice and comfy down in thier deep holes, likely watching us die in technicolor from thier padded chairs, sipping thier Brandy...

It would work better if we stopped looking at the bosses and worked something out ourselves. And well, if you have the heart maybe you, on your part will consider the rest of manking (300 billion?). You will wear yourself out trying to educate all of them - how about Africa? Maybe unite the rest of the other continents and commence construction of ISSs and space ships then work very hard on your research to conquer speeds greater than that of light.

Maybe then, you will be in a position to make it to the nearest solar system to us (30 light years away) with the whole of earth's population in time.

By the way, if the bosses don't save themselves, what do we gain? We all perish and mankind disappears - considering that we are all mortals, it doesn't matter much provided some of us (them) live on to tell the story to their offspiring.

You say "do we have a top secret plan", define "we", the government and elites certainly do have their own plans. They have vast underground facilities where they can live, in the event of nuclear or other disaster, for dozens of years.

The average Joe doesn't figure into the plan, what with limited food and space in these facilities.

Dr. Strangelove had a great plan for this.

I believe that if there is a plan, that there are a lot of people that would be very surprised to see they aren't on the list: Heads of States, Senate, Ambassader Sadesky. It would probably be extremely wealthy movers and shakers such as Rockefellers, Rothschilds, and Saxe-Coburg-Gotha family members (think Queen of England) who would be "chosen" since they all think so highly of themselves anyhow.

At the same time, humans have lived on this planet for quite a long time with threats that looked like they could wipe out humanity at any given time. We persevere, and I am sure that eventually in a few hundred years, we may just consider it a minor inconvenience to leave one planet for another.

I think we have a "manifest destinty" to eventually leave the earth, and this is driven out of a sense of survival for our species (not necessarily the individual.)

Humans found there way to all corners of the world, to the most remote islands, highest mountains, darkest caves -- to the deepest part of the ocean.

Likewise, we will undoubtably have bubbled cities on Mars, other planets -- remove outposts of humanity that will be self-sustained, perhaps permanently so.

That just makes the whole human DNA issue much more robust!
