Well, we already had a lot of disscusions about the Fed Reserve, the Taxes in the US. And of course we all know that taxes is what keeping the society going, is the money used to keep the streets, public agencies and entities, social help etc etc etc.
But what makes it scary is when the % of your income that goes away for taxes, per year gets so high that your quality of life is going down, year after year, and THE DEBT STILLS GROWING!
I just dont get this, even so, what do you expect from this? I mean for how long is the people going to stand this situation giving away money like that?

Check this little article:

Well, America, congratulations! We've finally distinguished ourselves now as OFFICIAL SLAVES of the United States government. Yes, you heard me correctly. We are now working, for the first time ever in our history, over half the year to pay Uncle Sam the Tax Man.

Yup, it's now official. According to Americans for Tax Reform, a group that keeps an eye on such matters, Americans had to work until July 11th of this year to pay off their DEBT to the U.S. government. Texas Representative Ron Paul calls this "Cost of Government Day" where "the average American has worked enough in the calendar year to pay for government at the federal, state and local levels."

Can you see what's going on? Can you hear the tide of rolling socialism washing over us? Although I cover this topic much more extensively in my book, The New World Order Exposed, take a look at how much we are now required to work to pay off our various tax debts to the government (on all levels):

January 31 days all money earned goes to the government SLAVERY
February 28 days - all money earned goes to the government SLAVERY
March 31 days - all money earned goes to the government SLAVERY
April 30 days - all money earned goes to the government SLAVERY
May 31 days - all money earned goes to the government SLAVERY
June 30 days - all money earned goes to the government SLAVERY
July 11 days - all money earned goes to the government SLAVERY

Is it starting to sink in yet?...

There are 365 days in every year, and Americans are now working 192 of them for NOTHING - to pay our slave-debt! That comes to 52.6% of our total wages. Now, for a long time the commonly agreed upon tax rate was 48%, which still meant that we kept more of our money than we gave away. But not any more. In fact, were now working 17 days longer for our "Cost of Government Day" than we did only three years ago. So, just like that, the government added 2 more weeks of NON-PAID labor to our enslavement since the year 2000.

With all this infuriating information in mind, let me ask all of my fellow Americans a question: in the future, do you think well be working even MORE days to pay off our enslavement debt, or less? If you dont know the answer, let me remind you that our federal deficit will exceed $455 billion this year (in February 2003, President Bush said that this deficit would only be $304 billion) while were spending $1 billion dollars a week to rebuilt Iraq (not to mention our forays in Afghanistan, Africa, and God knows where else).

So, what happens when our government spends more money than it takes in? Answer: it borrows more money from the international bankers, which subsequently increases our national debt, and thus the total amount of yearly interest we must pay. To make up for this deficit, try to guess what our government is going to do. Decrease spending? Hardly! The Bush Administration (supposedly fiscal conservatives, but we know thats a joke) is outspending the socialist Clinton Democrats in every area, including HUD, schooling, health care, and community development (but who would notice). (As an aside, doesnt it seem funny that even though we keep funneling more and more money into these programs, none of them seem to get any better?)

Anyway, heres the bottom line: every time the government goes further into debt and borrows more from the international bankers, OUR TAXES GO UP! Don't believe me? In 1913, when the federal income tax bill was enacted, the government took only 1% of our wages. Now were being taxed, in whole, 52% of our wages! Were working until July 11th to pay our tax-slave debt to the government. And if this trend continues, soon we'll be working into AUGUST. As I illustrate in The New World Order Exposed, there isn't much differentiating us from slaves on a plantation in pre-Civil War times. Can you hear what Im saying?

To close, Ill only ask one more question why are we surrendering such an exorbitant amount of our money via taxation without putting up any fight about it? When will it end? The answer is: not until we do something about it. Will we rebel at 55% of our wages being stolen 60% 65% how about 70% nah, why dont we push it until 75% - that way the government gets 3/4s while we get to keep . I'm reminded of an old saying that goes as such: Power never concedes power until it is demanded to do so. It's time to start DEMANDING, folks it's time for a revolution!

um... but you started out by saying we get certain services... such as:

transportation infrastructure
local security (police)
national security (armed services)
health care (somewhat) for the poor
social services for the destitute
financial infrastructure (for major personal propert ie. homes)
education infrastructure
...and more...

Granted, there can be lengthy debate on the manner in which funds are spent, and the lack of efficiency of a bloated government... but it's not work for nothing which would describe slavery.

Talking about work for nothing means, that if u are paying all those taxes, the quality of life goes lower and lower, and the debt goes higher and higher, all the taxes you pay are not going to resolve anything, and there is already a lot of people with cash problems in the States, remember this thread?

Cold anger, what is the point? I think as long as standards of living continue to rise with salaries, the government can take whatever percentage of your income it decides.

It is better to have a government that takes a large percentage of your earnings and delivers on social infrastructure, security etc, than one that takes a little and delivers equally little.

The point? Mate, the taxes are killing us, and they are not helping us to grow, it looks like temporary grow, but in the end is the total opposite, is just being used for the final moment...

It is the people who do not pay attention to what is going on within the government or our nation as a whole.

As long as over half the electorate does not vote, as long as people vote on sound bites, as long as people let the rich control the spin this downward spiral will continue.

If you head over to We The People you'll find out about a *lot* about the current illegality of the income tax structure & the means of enforcing it...

As well as being able to put in your support to get the damn thing abolished...

When disposable income decreases due to increasing taxation the options you have as a free' citizen decrease.

This is about freedom ultimately and not about economics.

It is possible to work and pay all your income as tax and live quite well, but will you have freedom?

Especially when others make decisions that affect your life and lifestyle and you cannot do much about it.

America was about freedom in its conception, socialism is ultimately about control.

The real problem is that half or more of the population thinks that we don't pay enough taxes, and the same people demand more services.

I know that I pay enough taxes! I also know that at least 1/3 of what the government does serves no function whatsoever.

That we bitch so much about the taxes we pay and then almost in the same breath you'll hear folks bitch about the lack of services or infrastructure provided by our tax dollars.

YA CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS FOLKS!!!!

Taxes are a required part of the equation if you want to live in a modern civilized country. If you remove taxes from the lexicon you have Mexico or Bolivia or Afghanistan!!! Would any of you want to live a life like the people in any of those 3rd world nations?

I like my creature comforts and although repairs are needed to our infrastructure, especially in a state like California where the roads and rapid transit have been neglected for over 30 years, we are still light-years ahead of these backwards countries like those mentioned above.

As for the amount of taxes we pay, of the industrialized G-8 who are the most modern of the industrialized nations on the planet, we pay the least in taxes as a percentage of income.

In the UK avg. income taxes are over 50% and there are no caps, this is the main reason why rich English movie & rockstars come to live in the US, they get to keep more of the hard earned duckets!!

In Germany the tax rates are very close to the UK, around 45% and also have no cap!!

France is about 40%, not much more than the US but you also have province taxes similar to US state taxes that run upwards of 10% in some areas.

But the benefits the Euro's recieve for their tax burden is far more than anything the US has ever offered its citizens.

FREE:
> daycare
>healthcare & prescriptions
>minimum 1 month of vacation per year MANDATORY regardless of time-in-service!!
>100% paid retirement
>education

And you very seldom hear a Euro bitch about taxes because of the benefits they reap from it.

I think the Americans need to voice their opinions to ensure that our "elected" officials know that we expect services for the money we pay!!

I know many of us in the US are very tired of watching our hard earned money being paid in taxes, given to foriegn countries with absolutely no chance of them ever paying it back and in most cases its not even a requirement, being a grant rather than a loan.

KEEP OUR US TAX DOLLARS AT HOME AND LESS AMERICANS WOULD BE ANGRY ABOUT PAYING TAXES!!!

WE NEED TO REBUILD AMERICA FROM THE INSIDE OUT, WE CAN HELP THE WORLD MUCH MORE IF WE OURSELVES HAVE A HEALTHY AND ROBUST SOCIETY
FROM WHICH TO PROVIDE HELP BUT IF MOST AMERICANS ARE GOING WITHOUT WHY SHOULD THE NEEDS OF THE REST OF THE WORLD COME FIRST????

Yeah, the main cause of the problem is that the government got too big for it's original function & it spends too much money on functions that it was never intended to have in the first place...And they're not even held accountable for a lot of that expenditure.

This is why I've said (several times throughout these forums) that the government needs to go through some *serious* downsizing.

I'm more in leaning to a complete re-structuring of how they operate. There are far too many redundancies in the current setup and far too many large gaps in areas that should be covered but have been left swinging in the breeze by the current big money first mentality.

One thing that is a definite MUST HAVE CHANGE is to restructure the political elections methodology, for one I would like to see the US adopt a UK-Euro style campaign process, where as we shrink it from its current 2 years or more down to the UK's 2 months.
Our politicians spend more time getting money & support for their re-election than they spend actually doing the job we elected them to do in the first place. It's quite rediculous in my humble opinion.

I would also like to see the career politician be a dinosaur of the past, instead we'd have a return to the part-time unpaid statesmen that our forefathers originally invisioned. As part of that transition we'd also make lobbyist & lobbying firms illegal and punishable by law with both huge fines and jail-time for ALL participants; the lobbyist, the lobbyist firm, & the politician taking thier money for influence ot votes.

Politics was never intended to be a career path but only a service to ones country seen as a priviledge to be elected by ones constiuents and as a requirement of the priviledged class to serve the people for which they are indebted to as their customer base or community at large that they are a member of.

We need a better system, no doubt about that but I'm guessing we'll need to see more blunders of the Bush syndicate before the voters anger is peaked enough to press for an overall change at a grass-roots level, pushing our candidates into positions of power starting at the local level and working our way up to national level over many years I'm sure.

We can make a serious start at the grass-roots level locally but we also have an opportunity to do so NOW by voting for a candidate in 2004 presidential election that has these ideas already and wants to make these changes happen much sooner.

Well, yeah...Downsizing is merely a *part* of a complete overhaul. In fact, downsizing would be more of a "minor side effect" that takes place in the process of getting the Nation back to The People.

Pure and simple.

We should be paying less taxes.

The problem is is that the govornment does not budget the money. With the amount of money we pay, we should be getting a hell of alot more than what we do get.

No, I do not believe in socialism. I do not believe in increasing taxes for the greater good as far as funding social programs and such. NO national healthcare. It works better privateized. No waiting lists. Period.

The money we spend is being wasted, THERE is the problem. Its like a guy who is making 100k a year who is broke and in debt all the time. Its because he wastes his money foolishly instead of being a smart shopper. Our govornment, who spends 80,000 dollars for a second rate toilet seat, THERE is the budget crisis. Spending Billions a year on israel, occupying Europe, and Now Iraq, and Korea. The amount of money they foolishly waste on ridiculous research projects, money that can be spent in many other ways.

No, they do not need more money, and yes, we need a tax cut. Until the govornment can prove that it can handle the money we gove them, why the # should we give them any more money? Its like having a wife that overruns the limits on your credit cards, overdraws your bank accounts, and has nothing to show for it, and she has the nerve to ask you for 5000 dollars and another credit card. Are you going to give this insane bitch her wish?

If you are, youre a #ing moron. The same thing goes with the govornment. Until they can show us that they can be thrifty and handle the massive amounts of cash we dump on thier fat laps, I say we cut them off, period.
