FBI Top 10 Most Wanted: Status of Usama Bin Laden Pre-2001

it seems strange as to why Osama would be No #1 before september 11 just because of the US cole. I bet there are a lot more serial killers and bombers in the US other than Osama. Also, if he was already number 1 why didn't the media and FBI try and make everyone know his name or at least make the public aware of all his history and offences like they did after september 11?

Bin Laden wasn't just wanted for the bombing of the Cole; he was wanted for questioning in relation to several other terrorist crimes.

"Usama Bin Laden is wanted in connection with the August 7, 1998, bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya. These attacks killed over 200 people. In addition, Bin Laden is a suspect in other terrorist attacks throughout the world."

Bin Laden is not a new, post 9/11 threat.

With regards to serial killers and others....well, one obvious point is...we rarely know who a serial killer is until he's caught. That's why you really don't see too many of 'em on the Most Wanted lists.

And if we look, there are - and have been with stunningly consistent regularity - other terrorists/bombers on the lists since we first started to gain Net access to those FBI Most Wanted files

Some history for ya. As it shows, Osama supposedly turned from the US's lapdog to its greatest enemy between 1991 and 1993 when Osama was outcast by the Saudi Royal family. Seemingly triggering his current status of public enemy number 1.

1979 - 1989 Osama was sponsored, trained and fighting with the Mujihadeen in Afghanistan against the Red Army until 1989. Osama was sourced by the CIA to recruit and train volunteers to fight this war in Afghanistan.

1990 - 1991 Osama returned to Saudi Arabia and wanted to drive the Iraqi forces from Kuwait with his Mujihadeen forces. This caused him to loose support from the Saudi Arabian royalty. They actualy made him a persona non grata.

1993 Osama's first official terrorist attack happens. The carbomb at the WTC. eg The first WTC bombing. Al-Quada was born from the ranks of the US sponsored, US built Mujihadeen.

1995 - 2000 Several carbombs and suicide bomber attacks against US embassy's, US military personel and locations in Saudi Arabia.
This followed by some attacks against US embassy's and bases in Kenia and Tansania. Most of this time, Osama was thought to have stayed in Afghanistan after living shortly in country's like Jemen, UAE and Saudi Arabia. During 2000, Osama had mobile Dialysis equipment shipped to Kandahar. This after several trips to Dubai for his Kidney problems.

4-7-2001 to 14-7-2001 Osama is in a US hospital in Dubai in the UAE for a kidney infection that propagated to his liver. He is visited by a local CIA representative, family members and prominent Saudi's. After Osama left the Dubai Hospital, the CIA agent was called back to the US.

11-9-2001 Al-Quada is credited for the 9/11 events. Osama is thought to be in Afghanistan.

2002 - current Osama is credited for each and every terror attack around the world.

Between Osama's visit in the Dubai hospital in mid 2001 and the 9/11 events, the french intelligence services requested a meeting with the US intelligence services about information they uncovered. This was most likely about 9/11.

Matrix, do you have any links relating to the CIA visiting Bin Laden in hospital, or relating to his medical treatment, etc?

The original article has gone, but a newsgroup copy says Bin Ladin was added to the FBI's Most Wanted list after the embassy bombings in 1999.

Osama was posted on the FBI wanted list related to the embassy bombings in Africe, im surprise yall guys forgot. Clinton try to get him after receiving intel that Osama's cronies had to do with it, and that electronic intercepts located him in Afghanistan where Clinton launch cruise missies which killed dozens of Osama's followers, which in hatred vow to retaliate by attackin America on 9/11.

Hrmm, would it be unthinkable to think that this happened again for 9/11? For some of you I know it would be. I don't trust the CIA one bit though. The ties with the Bush's/CIA and Bin Laden seems all too convienent, regardless of any story that claims Bin Laden had a falling out with his entire family.
