If Atlantis rose up from the bottom of the ocean, would you want to move there?

Would you want to found an independent nation?

Would you be willing to create a territory (terrortory?) of your home nation?

____________________

Lets say that a big slab of Earth rises up from the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. Lets say its about the size of India. Lets say that satillites and Air Force pilots of multiple nations do fly-overs and photograph artificial (man made or humanoid made) objects.

Would our governments simply let us pack up and take a boat over there?

Would nations war over who gets what piece of the land and how much?

Would local territories battle for space?

How would the artifacts be managed? Would the rest of the people on Earth be told?

Would people war with their local governments to go there?

Would the raising of Atlantis create a world war?

What about the geographic ramifications? Tidal waves, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions.... How severe would those incidents be?

Anybody?????

I for one would want to relocate there and help create a new country but I expect I would be met with unconceiveable resistance.

Why on earth would people be so eager to relocate there?

Let's for a second pretend that such an event did occur.

The land would be sea floor, really salinated, and totally unsuitable for crops for a number of years.

No electricity, no running water, no roads, no harbors, no airfields.

No one without a boat or a helicopter would be able to get there. There would be no commercial flights there, so why would people be fighting to be allowed to go there?

No one is rebelling so they can move to the Yukon, or Idaho, or Montana.

yea i agree. even if Atlantis was far more advanced than we are right now, all that is gone. and would you want to move to a place where everyone died cuz the land sank beneath the ocean? what if it happened again.
