Capitalism, communism, it doesnt make a difference. They are just different ideologies both of which are equally vulnerable to and suffer from, the same faults, human ones.

Big headlines on the magazine. Anarchists this or that, its the anarchists fault, it the communists fault, its the this or the that, psychological grouping and sterotyping, its always the same stuff and it will never change. Media Media Media, tavistock, propaganda, brainwashing, blah blah blah.

There are bad people and good people in all groups which are big enough, whatever their ideology.

Fight the make believe enemy outside instead of the real one inside, remains the secret mission statement of all major media. In one word distraction.

Trouble is it only makes things worse than they were before.

The G8 should just have their meting on a US carrier in the middle of the Atlantic, that would take care of those pesky protesters, and they don't have to worry about any security issues. They would have subs, fighter jets, destroyers, cruiser, and frigates protecting them.

In my opinion the only reason American capitalism has survived is becuase it incorporates many socialist/communist ideas. You must keep the the serfs happy (or fooled), else they will rise up.

Neither communism nor capitalism would work in its pure form.

Not too sure whether Seven other nations would want to be on an American aircraft Carrier. I'm sure that the Americans or any other country would want to be on a French or Russian carrier so I don't think an aircraft carrier from any country would be the best idea. It's a matter of pride remember.

Yes this is a keynesian-protectionist economy. Keynesian as in the government supports chosen industried and firms (tax breaks, legislation etc) and protectionist as in they protect themseves from competition by passin patent and copyright laws!

Yeah, that's just what they need. They are already accused of conspiring to do evil deeds. Some 'discretion' would throw things into absolute chaos, even more so than now, and the ATS server would crash due do everyone posting their own theories about the G8-alien link.

These people are just looking to be a part of something. If their true goal is a peaceful protest, then they should disassociate themselves from the more violent people by merely sitting--ya know, the old school way of protesting.

Seen this all over the news last night, and in the newspapers today. Giving these so called protesters all this coverage is just going to damage the image of the majority of the peaceful protesters, and i think that sucks! Ok, it happened fine, report it, but no need for all this!
They are not protesters anyway, just people in masks out to cause trouble. I have heard of instances of "protesters" such as these, who are planted to cause trouble, making the real protesters look bad, and to give the police more power. This looks as though it could be something like that.

From what I've heard and seen the anarchists are only a small percentage of the protesters in Edinburgh. They usually are. The problem is that those that choose violence as a form of protest are completely counter-productive to themselves, their cause or message and that of all the other peaceful protesters. It's sad that they don't seem to realise this. Using violence simply means no one is going to listen to them or care what it is they have to say.

On top of that the violent protesters are effectively doing the propaganda work for those that would like to see all the protesters silenced. A large percentage of the mainstream media have long since got into the mode of lumping all protesters under the heading "anarchists", enabled by the violent minority. They do this hoping to bolster the pigeon - holing of all the protesters in the publics mind, resulting in the blanket condemnation and out of hand dismissal of all protests and protesters, the likes of which we've seen from a couple of people in this thread.

I'm more worried about when the Anarchists/Protesters decide to turn up in Auchterarder tomorrow... Oh well, need a bit of action to liven the place up a bit, this is the biggest thing that has ever happened in Auchterarders history

Apparently certain anarchist groups showed up from all over Europe to specifically cause hassle. Then we get people moaning that the Police hit them because they tried to attack one of them! This is a BIG shame because we had genuine protesters who turned out to peacefully protest and to specifically put pressure on the G8 meeting to change what is happening in Africa. Yet we have these thugs from all over wearing their black hoodies and bandanas over their mouths to simply start a riot and cause chaos.

Now i respect the Police since they have one of the most unrewarding jobs to keep the steets clean and keep some order. If you got hit by a Policeman then don't stand in the frontline with all the yobs. To top it off not only did we have anarchist groups turning out, but locals who wanted to join in the rucus. I hope the troublemakers who only enjoy making a misery for everyone got what they deserved.

It's sickening when you think that peaceful protesters turned out to try and effect positive change, only to have it ruined by a bunch of no good thugs.

I agree with Flyboy, there are plenty of people who are just out to cause trouble because its just there "sport", just like the football hooligans.

For example, today, I was up watching the protesters at the first cordon at Gleneagles, they decided it would be a great idea to trample the farmers crops (basically destroying this years yeild) so they could get to the fence, where they begun to attack it, setting it on fire and throw rocks at the watch towers and police. So, after about an hour, 600 riot police turned up and chased them off the fileds. The peacful ones stayed on the road, on the designated protest route, the others were just out to cause troble and thats what they got! If you see the pictures of the boy with the head wound, I know him, and can glady say he deserved it!
