The three injured crewmen line is incorrect. The Instructor Pilot, Mike Lee, is dead. the sudent in the front seat is critically injured. The one in the cabin is ok, by the grace of God.

While in a normal flight, a component came off the helicopter, as witnessed by another crew several hundred feet to the rear of the doomed helicopter. The nose pitched up, and then the bird fell out of the sky.

"The aircraft was being used for pilot aircraft qualification training, with a crew of three on board, when it experienced a hard landing and damage."

A hard landing? I'd hate to see what their idea of a Sho-Nuff is!

TC,

The paint scheme on the ship looks more like Coast Guard colors that what I am used to seeing on Army birds????

Heart goes out to the family, and hopefull the injured recover.

FRED!! Glad to see you, Brother! I've missed seeing you around.

The TH-67 Creek is a civilian aircraft, used by the Army to train brand new pilots. It's really the Bell Jet Ranger. The paint scheme is so that, if it crashes into a wooded area, it can be more easily spotted by air rescue.

Thanks for the kind words for the families. It's been a pretty somber day at work today.
