I agree. Make it 24 hours to accommodate the time difference in Tokyo and I'm in. Also, is there a text limit? Otherwise I could see a lot of copying and pasting rather than debating. Link limit also?

Originally posted by wecomeinpeaceIn an international setting, debate topics should be more generalized in their scope

Indeed, we have a number of possible topics that are not centered on North America, and when we've been comming up with topics we've even stated 'lets try to include some topics that are of specific interests to members in specific regions', like Europe, the middle east, Russia, 'macronesia', araby, etc.

Anyone, epescially people from areas outside north america and europe, are more than welcome to suggest topics. Perhaps stuff that people outside your areas might not be aware of, or are aware but aren't concerned about, etc etc.

I think you just tried to break the size barrier and found our technology just isn't up to the task

Here's an idea for a debate:

Should the ancient artifacts in the temples in Cambodia be removed and displayed for people to be able to appreciate the colorful past of Cambodia, or should they be left to protect the sanctity and history of Cambodia.

It's a debate that was going on in Cambodia last year, at least, and probably still continues that I was reading about. I'd like to see a debate address both sides, because I can't decide with the information I have before me now which way to go.

JungleJakes reply above reminded me of a good debate topic.

Should the British Museum return the Elgin Marbles (from the Parthanon) to Greece ?
