Topic started on 20-6-2005 @ 04:10 PM by punkmonkey14

There has been 686 earthquakes in the past week, with the highest one being a 7.2. Which leads scientists to believe the big one is near. What do you guys think? You can go Here to get info on earthquakes

Believe it or not, 686 is not that large of a number (it's down to 620 btw).
Especially since alot of those are aftershocks (the number was over 1000 about a few days ago).

Who are these scientists that believe the big one is near?

Many scientists believe the SA fault is overdue for a large quake, but no one is saying that it's near. There's no way of telling that.

Maybe all these smaller quakes will relieve the pressure and there won't be a big'in.
