I had no clue where to post this.. Probably noone knows, But I still question why they neglect to acknowledge this. Read:

"California formed a republic after the Bear Flag Revolt. Some historians believe that Captain John C. Frémont, a United States Army topological engineer, directed American militants.
Evidence shows a genuine American militant presence, formed of encroaching American immigrants who revolted in fear upon hearing the rumor that General Mariano Vallejo considered deporting all the Americans in California.

On Frémont’s third visit to California, the Secretary of the Navy, George Bancroft, encouraged that Frémont stir up the revolt. When the Mexicans ordered Frémont out of California, he gathered sharpshooters and picked off the Mexican Militia. Many people would definitely not assume that armed Americans certainly do not have the ability to easily pick off a militia with sharpshooter guns.
Later Frémont met with a government agent, posing as a merchant, on the California-Oregon border. They spoke about progressions in the Mexican War and other disclosed topics. Ironically, the Navy was at bay in California too, with their leader also encouraging the revolt in California.
Evidence continues to show that America took over California, but posing as angry American immigrants.
The Bear Flag Revolt ended with the Americans, followed by Frémont, charging to General Mariano Vallejo’s home as he slept. He had no guards, due to lack of funding. Vallejo signed a treaty. Later William Todd, nephew of Abraham Lincoln, designed a flag for California. Many journals cite that the bear he drew, looked like a pig. He chose a Grizzly bear because the Mexicans feared this beast. Americans gladly relaxed while the Navy captured Monterey and other cities. After the revolt, some Californios, Mexicans who continued living in California, succeeded in their own revolt, capturing a small fort. Later President Polk sent Kearny to eliminate the Californios.
Kearny slowly marched through California, winning some battles, but losing many; as a result, the Californios finally retreated to Mexico for safety. Many sources explain how President Polk pushed George Bancroft, Frémont's father-in-law, and the Secretary of the U.S. Navy, to encourage Frémont to commence war on California. All evidence presented shows that Polk took over California by conquest. "
(I took it out of my report, Yes I wrote it.)

Thoughts..Ideas..Comments... Thank you.

Ah the greatest state in the greatest nation on earth. I'm so forunate to live in thee. I have to say I've never heard of a War on the Republic of California. But it is well known that California was taken by conquest. As it was by the Spanish. Mexico inherited it but couldn't populate it. So the US took it.

The End

Um Dan, as your fellow Californian I feel a patriotic duty to make sure you're OK. You haven't had to much to drink or anything right?

I only ask because last time I checked this place was hot as hell, was in such a pinch for leadership that we elected an actor (some of us even voted for the porn star), and only had an appreciable population because the women don't wear much and there are jobs.

When the jobs leave so do the women and I'm following both. Viva California... but only until something better pops up. (Personally I'm pulling for Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, or an annexation of Cuba- in that order).
