I wasn't sure under which heading to post this so if I choose wrong I'm sorry.
After seeing the french sky diver cross the Channel with the assistance of his carbon wing ( I think it was 6 metres forward for every 1 metre drop in height )I wonder how many special forces teams using HALO will now be trying something along the same lines , or is that where he got HIS idea from ?

The military has thought about this type of idea already. On an old show of Tech TV's "Future Fighting Machines" they showed a graphic of soildiers using small gliders instead of parachutes.
