Documents from the internal United Nations Oil-for-Food program probe were handed over to the U.S. Congress by ex-investigator Robert Parton under a Congressional subpoena. The documents reportedly show that Kofi Annan lied to investigators regarding his and his son's role in the multi-billion dollar financial scandal. Previous attempts by Congress to obtain such documents were stymied by diplomatic immunity offered to UN representatives.

NEW YORK — FOX News has learned that documents that could prove U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan lied to Oil-for-Food investigators were handed over to Congress on Wednesday night.

The documents were given to federal lawmakers by Robert Parton, a former senior investigator on the Independent Inquiry Committee probing the $64 billion program.

Parton and Miranda Duncan, who both resigned from the panel last month in protest, have accused the IIC of downplaying Annan's role in the Oil-for-Food corruption scandal in an interim report released by the panel last March.

If these documents show what they're advertised to show, then Kofi's days at the UN may be numbered. He's obviously been stonewalling both the internal investigation, which seems to exist only to whitewash his role anyway, and the Congressional investigation.
