Seems Vladimir willing to make first step into the peace process.Says a lot for him in the times we are in now.Perhaps he has been given a new identity with this move.
Putin said foreign ministers of the Quartet will meet in Moscow on May 8 to discuss the peace process. He said high-level experts would attend the autumn conference, but the exact level of representation still had to be agreed upon, saying he still needed to speak with Sharon.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

Looking forward to possible breakthrough discussions coming from this meeting.Unprecedented for a Russian leader to enter the mid-east.Hope this does bring a breakthrough.

Sorry but this story was upgraded? The voting system seriously needs fixing.

Ahhh...democracy at work. I think GWB put it best:

"If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier...just as long as I'm the dictator..."

I don't think it was upgraded, as it doesn't show on the ATSNN page here:

And this little 'gem' was nicely timed by Putin.
Putin opposes Iranian nuclear bomb
From correspondents in Jerusalem
April 28, 2005

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday said he opposed any Iranian effort to a build a nuclear bomb and stressed that nuclear cooperation between Moscow and Tehran was limited to civilian activities.

That comment should make for a nice little holiday for Putin.

Since the United States has already established a military presence in Iraq, where will Russia establish theirs for the coming conflict?
