Former Conservative Party chairman Lord Tebbit has accused the party's candidate for the Thanet South seat in Kent of being a "destructive
force".
The former cabinet minister said Mark MacGregor was not a good influence on the Conservative party and he would not go out and campaign for him.
As party chairman Lord Tebbit disbanded the Federation of Conservative Students, which Mr MacGregor ran.
The Tory party in Thanet South declined to comment on Lord Tebbit's views.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4, the peer recalled how he had "the most terrible troubles" with the Federation of Conservative Students (FCS), which was
causing "grave damage" to the Conservative cause within universities.
