American Militias: Are they Constitutional and Legal, or are they operating grounds for Terrorists?

I've made a number of Web Searches about American Militias.

I'm not sure what to think about the 'Minutemen Project' - thugs or public police?!?!

Are there any real threats to citizens of the U.S.A., that aren't being addressed?

Please be aware that I am not including the so-called elected government of the US in this. Imho, they are an organization that operates above the Law and on a Global scale, but that's another topic for discussion in itself.
