"Let us say one thing: If we are wrong, we will have destroyed a threat that at its least is responsible for inhuman carnage and suffering. That is something I am confident history will forgive."

Tony Blair.Taken from his recent speech to Congress

"History will be kind to me for I intend to write it."

Sir Winston Churchill

Interesting question really.Do we want our politicians to set themselves up to be judged only by History, which they in turn will write,or by the electorate that give them power?

Any views?

History is no judge at all.

Mendacious leaders revise it every day to further corrupt agendas.

Judgment can only be in the now, in full knowledge of the seriousness of allegations and crimes.

Perpetrators and conspirators should be tried and exonerated or punished.

That judgement is more important to the human condition than any future history.
