Putin has been comparing himself with Jesus. He did this with children giving them the impression he was protecting and saving them. He did this with his senior officials comparing himself with Jesus and them as his apostles. He's got the heads of churches over there saying that Putins reign is a 'miracle of God' and that Russia is fighting the antichrist in Ukraine. Russia state run media claims the Virgin Mary appeared in a hospital and that all the sins of the soldiers who die in battle are forgiven. Propaganda posters in Russia show Russian soldiers with halos around their heads.

No wonder the poor Russians over there are so inebriated with this guy. He's putting himself forward as a new Jesus, the cabinet as apostles, soldiers as martyr saints, the 'mission' in Ukraine as a divine one. That rhetoric and propaganda is pounded into them by state media 24/7. They can't escape it. It's going to have an effect on their ability to decern reality.

Yeah the West has problems. But so does Russia. And Putin is no Jesus savior. He's a mass murdering sociopath.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has compared himself to Jesus Christ in a series of addresses this week in which he detailed his crusade against the West's "Satanic" values.

Speaking to children via video call to mark the opening of a number of youth centres near Moscow, the premier quoted several bible passages - which follows his previous drawing of parallels between his 'mission' to protect Russian kids from what he called the creeping influence of the West and Jesus calling on Peter and Andrew to spread the word of God.

While in a meeting with senior Russian officials, Putin said: "Do you remember how Jesus came to Galilee and saw the fishermen beside the Sea of Galilee? "One was catching fish, another was fixing his net. And he said to them: 'Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men, fishers of human souls.' They became his evangelists, his students.

"This was very important at a time when world religions were developing... but it is no less current now, when we must defend our traditional values, our culture, our traditions and our history - this is very important for the future of the country.

The spiritual speeches mark the latest in a string of examples of Putin mixing church and state to advance his messaging.

It's not the first time Mad Vlad has dared to compare himself to greatness in history. Comparing himself to Christ is a new level of egotism, but in the past he has compared himself to Peter the Great as well.

Vladimir Putin has compared himself to the 18th-century Russian tsar Peter the Great, drawing a parallel between what he portrayed as their twin historic quests to win back Russian lands.

“Peter the Great waged the great northern war for 21 years. It would seem that he was at war with Sweden, he took something from them. He did not take anything from them, he returned [what was Russia’s],” the Russian president said on Thursday after a visiting an exhibition dedicated to the tsar.

After months of denials that Russia is driven by imperial ambitions in Ukraine, Putin appeared to embrace that mission, comparing Peter’s campaign with Russia’s current military actions.

“Apparently, it is also our lot to return [what is Russia’s] and strengthen [the country]. And if we proceed from the fact that these basic values form the basis of our existence, we will certainly succeed in solving the tasks that we face.”

Jesus said that his kingdom was no part of this world. In fact when before the Roman Governor of Judea at that time, Pontius Pilate, who was only interested in the charges of insurrection and sedition, and not any religious dispute, as he was representing and protecting the good of the Roman Emperor Caesar asked Jesus if he was committing insurrection, making himself king of the Jews in defiance of Caesar. Jesus knowing that his kingdom rule would be heavenly and future, and not just over the Jews, but the entire earth comforted Pilate and eased his worries by stating that his kingdom was not from "this source" that is earthly, letting Pilate know that he and Cesar had no need to fear his kingdom at that time. For it was yet future:

"So Pilate entered the governor’s residence again and called Jesus and said to him: “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus answered: “Are you asking this of your own originality, or did others tell you about me?” Pilate replied: “I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests handed you over to me. What did you do?” Jesus answered: “My Kingdom is no part of this world. If my Kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my Kingdom is not from this source.”-John 18:33-36.

Jesus' kingdom government is heavenly. It will rule over all humankind. It will crush and put an end to all these earthly governments which now rule on earth:

"In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. And this kingdom will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it alone will stand forever."-Daniel 2:44.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not partake in elections, hold political office, or fight for or take part in any military on earth. They take Jesus' words seriously when he told his followers they were to be no part of the world just as Jesus himself was no part of the world, he did not fight in their rebellions, take sides in their political disputes. Rather he preached the good news of God's kingdom, the good news! So his followers are preachers of the good news of God's kingdom! God's kingdom! It will solve all humankind's problems.

The Churches of Christendom cannot do this because they are enslaved to the world. They are a part of Satan's system of things, and the Bible reveals that in God's eyes she has as much as prostituted herself to the kings of the earth, she is a spiritual prostitute that has committed sexual immoral relations with all the kings of the earth:

"“You must pray, then, this way:
“‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth. "-Matthew 6:9-10.

"If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you. Keep in mind the word I said to you: A slave is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you."-John 15:19-20.

Yes, but some of us display many more traits than some other people do.

For example, I've never committed adultery with a porn star after my wife gave birth, paid the porn star hush money to keep quiet, and then lied about it to the government. It's been a while since I've read the Bible, but I'm pretty sure Jesus didn't do any of that stuff, either.

I didn’t see the part where he compared himself to Jesus. It seemed like he was trying to put importance on the disciples spreading the message at the tumultuous times and he is comparing their plight to the plight he wishes to take on now.

Compared to Biden, Netinyahoo, Sunak, Macron, Sholz, Zelensky, Trudeau and every other Western leader, Putin is an Angel and a righteous, honourable man. Russia is a devout Christian country that values family life and decency.

Foreign kings that enslaved the Jews made in the Bible. Then you have the Jewish king David that lusted after another man’s wife and had him sent to the front to increase the man’s chance of getting killed which happened. Then you have David’s son King Solomon that built alters to other Gods.
