I just finished watching the movie One Night with the King for about the 10th time probably and am still stirred by the tale. I've read the book dozens of times. It's a small book in the Bible, the book of Esther. You can probably read it out-loud to yourself in 45 minutes. In it is the tale of loyalty, betrayal, friendship, courage, love.

When I see the marriage of Ester to King Ahasuerus I cannot help but think of the wedding of the the bride of the lamb that will take place in heaven. Psalm 45 refers to that time. But it talks of much else. As King Ahasureus was a warrior king, the king in Psalm 45 is also a warrior king who rides "in the cause of truth and humility and righteousness." (verse 4).

As Psalm 45 is interlinked to many prophecies in the Bible and has its fulfillment in the near future thought it would be interesting to peer into its details.

The Psalmist (the sons of Korah) start off the Psalm singing:

"My heart is stirred by something good.
I say: “My song is about a king.”
May my tongue be the stylus of a skilled copyist.
"
(v 1).

God's spirit stirred the sons of Korah to lift up a song about a king. This king is none other than the chosen Messiah. The one foretold both by Moses and by Jehovah God in Genesis 3:15 before he kicked Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden. He is none other than Jesus Christ!

"You are the most handsome of the sons of men.
Gracious speech flows from your lips.
That is why God has blessed you forever.
"
(v 2)

Jesus Christ came down from heaven as scripture tells us. Jesus himself said he is the manna from heaven. He lowered himself and was born a human. He was not just any human, but the son of God. He was most assuredly the "most handsome of the sons of men" to have ever been born.

Before Jesus can rule earth he must rid it of wicked humanity. He must also wage war against wicked human governments who will not relinquish their rulerships. Jehovah has given the ends of the earth to his son as his inheritance. But the rulers stand up against him. Psalm 2 puts it this way:

"The kings of the earth take their stand
And high officials gather together as one
Against Jehovah and against his anointed one.
"
-Psalm 2:2.

As the rulers of the world stand up in opposition to Jesus Christ and persecute the sons of the kingdom while they are alive on earth Psalm 45 tells us what Jesus will do:

"Strap your sword on your side, O mighty one,
In your dignity and your splendor.
And in your splendor go on to victory;
Ride in the cause of truth and humility and righteousness,
And your right hand will accomplish awe-inspiring things.
Your arrows are sharp, making peoples fall before you;
They pierce the hearts of the king’s enemies.
"
(vs 3-5)

At the incoming battle of Armageddon Jesus Christ as the rider of the white horse of the apocalypse will ride forth in righteous warfare to fight against the kings of the earth. Revelation 19 tells us about this battle:

"I saw heaven opened, and look! a white horse. And the one seated on it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness. His eyes are a fiery flame, and on his head are many diadems. He has a name written that no one knows but he himself, and he is clothed with an outer garment stained with blood, and he is called by the name The Word of God. Also, the armies in heaven were following him on white horses, and they were clothed in white, clean, fine linen. And out of his mouth protrudes a sharp, long sword with which to strike the nations, and he will shepherd them with a rod of iron. Moreover, he treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his outer garment, yes, on his thigh, he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords."-Revelation 19:11-16.

Yes Jesus Christ will ride forth on his white horse in the cause of truth, humility, and righteous. He as the king of God's kingdom, will strike the nations on the day of Jehovah's fury and the war dead will be clear from one end of the earth all the way to the other. All who stand in opposition to the just and humble and good and righteous king of the earth who has an enduring and abiding love for humankind.

Psalm 45 continues:

"God is your throne forever and ever;
The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness.
You loved righteousness, and you hated wickedness.
That is why God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of exultation more than your companions.
"
(vs 6-7).

I previously authored a thread about the scepter of Jesus Christ. Paul wrote regarding this prophecy in Psalm 45:

"But about the Son, he says: “God is your throne forever and ever, and the scepter of your Kingdom is the scepter of uprightness. You loved righteousness, and you hated lawlessness. That is why God, your God, anointed you with the oil of exultation more than your companions.”-Hebrews 1:8-9.

These companions of Jesus Christ were the kings in the line of David who sat on Jehovah's throne in Israel, ending with Zedekiah, when he was taken by the king of Babylon into captivity. Jesus loves righteousness and his rule will be a righteous one. As Isaiah foretells about his kingdom rule over the earth in the near future:

"And the spirit of Jehovah will settle upon him,
The spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
The spirit of counsel and of mightiness,
The spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah.
 And he will find delight in the fear of Jehovah.
He will not judge by what appears to his eyes,
Nor reprove simply according to what his ears hear.
 He will judge the lowly with fairness,
And with uprightness he will give reproof in behalf of the meek ones of the earth.
He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth
And put the wicked to death with the breath of his lips.
"
-Isaiah 11:2-4.

Unlike human rulers who are mostly disinterested in humanity and helping other people Jesus Christ loves people and yearns to help us. He is the champion and the savior of the world. He is the champion of the orphan, the poor, the widows, the abused and looked down upon. And Jesus is just in all his dealings. He does not judge according to what his ears hear. His gleaming eyes pierce into the heart of man. And he judges based on justice and truth, as no deed can be hidden from his sight. During his rulership abundant peace will reign earthwide. And there will be no acts of injustice nor any wickedness. He will judge with truth and with justice. And he will strike the wicked with the rod of his mouth and by means of the breath of his lips they will be put to death.

The first part of Psalm 45 tells us of the most handsome of all humans, this king Jesus Christ that rides forth at Armageddon in the cause of truth, humility, and righteousness. At that time he is a mighty spirit in heaven at Jehovah's side, far more powerful and awe-inspiring than any mortal human. He alone is the one that dwells in unapproachable light which no human has seen or can seen, and he alone is the one with immortality.

After the battle of Armageddon a marriage in heaven takes place. The marriage of the lamb with his bride!:

"Listen, O daughter, pay attention and incline your ear;
Forget your people and your father’s house.
And the king will long for your beauty,
For he is your lord,
So bow down to him.
The daughter of Tyre will come with a gift;
The wealthiest of men will seek your favor.
Inside the palace the king’s daughter is absolutely magnificent;
Her clothing is adorned with gold.
She will be brought to the king in richly woven garments.
The virgin companions following her are brought in before you.
They will be brought with rejoicing and joy;
They will enter into the king’s palace.
Your sons will take the place of your forefathers.
You will appoint them as princes in all the earth.
"
(vs 10-16)

The 144,000 is the chaste virgin, the bride of Christ. As Paul tells the anointed Christian congregation:

"I personally promised you in marriage to one husband that I might present you as a chaste virgin to the Christ."-2 Corinthians 11:2.

After the battle of Armageddon, and wicked humanity as been done away with along with all human governments and armies and generals, and soldiers, and the great and the small, the rich and the poor, the freeman and the slaves in opposition to Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ the 144,000 now in heaven as immortal sons of God in the image of their adopted brother Jesus Christ will be wed to him to reign as kings on thrones in heaven over the earth for the 1,000 years:

"Let us rejoice and be overjoyed and give him glory, because the marriage of the Lamb has arrived and his wife has prepared herself. 8 Yes, it has been granted to her to be clothed with bright, clean, fine linen—for the fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the holy ones.”-Revelation 19:7-8.

"I also saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."-Revelation 19:7.

What a beautiful marriage that will be! Both for the bride of the lamb, the 144,000 anointed sealed and chosen called to heaven to rule with Christ, and for those invited to the marriage feast, their Christian companions who have an earthly hope. Then will be the revealing of the sons of God.

Psalm 45 concludes:

"I will make your name known throughout all generations to come.
That is why peoples will praise you forever and ever.
"
(v 17).

The name of Jesus Christ will be made known throughout all generations to come. And his people will praise him forever and ever.

You see this wicked world ruled by Satan the Devil it is going the way of the world in the days of Noah. The entire world of wicked humanity, along with the wicked angel-human hybrid nephilim were destroyed during the flood and only Noah, a preacher of righteousness and witness of Jehovah God, remained alive with his sons and their wives, 8 humans. And from them the entire world of humankind exists today.

Well, in that future on earth, only people who serve Jehovah God and obey the peaceful and good rule of Jesus Christ will exist. And they and their children all of them will be servants of Jehovah God forevermore. If only two people survived Armageddon God could make another world of humankind like today. But he has already foreseen millions of people that will survive on earth through Armageddon. And this wicked world and its wicked people? They will be gone forever. Just a footnote in the annuals of human and universal history. Nothing more than a mere blimp.

The wicked will cease to be and you will give your attention to their place and they will be no more. But the meek will inherit the earth. And they will reside forever upon it in the abundance of exquisite peace.
