Where did Germany get its Gas when the Ovens were cranked up full blast?

Cheap and unnecessary.

To the OP. It's sad that Germany continues to use Russian gas, even at greatly reduced rates. Germany needs to stop it and do what everyone else does - buy gas on the open market from other countries.

Germany is indirectly funding a revolting Russian war machine that is responsible for untold misery.

Yep! There are 2 pipelines under the Black Sea into Turkey that Turkey redirects gas into Western Europe. That same Black Sea where western drones keep buzzing around all day and night. You watch, if the west manages to sabotage those pipelines, Turkey will pull out of NATO, possibly even causing a complete collapse of that organization.

Actually, I hear Russia's economy is doing quite well in all of this. I feel sure Russia could probably sell all the oil they can produce to China and India, if the need arises. I hear all the western sanctions on Russia have actually hurt the western economy more than Russia's.

If you are referring to the death camp crematoriums, they probably used coal.

What I don't understand is how and why Russian natural gas is still flowing through Ukraine. Is Russia paying Ukraine in order to do so??? Doesn't really make sense.

Found an article on it:

Ukrainian officials say as long as Europeans are buying Russian gas they will honour their contract to transport it. It would not be in their interests to jeopardise European support by kicking up a fuss. Keeping Ukraine’s network open also helps European clients who are suing Gazprom for cutting them off: otherwise the Russians might argue that the Nord Stream explosion made delivery impossible.

Russian gas, meanwhile, has never been blocked. Yet as soon as Europe imposed sanctions, Russia began to turn off the taps. Despite the mysterious destruction of the Nord Stream pipeline in September, Russia could have supplied European customers with gas through the Ukrainian network. But when Ukraine shut down a pipeline entry point in occupied territory, Russia refused to pay full transit fees and threatened to cut off supply. Ukraine offered to reroute the gas, but Russia declined. Naftogaz, Ukraine’s state energy firm, has taken Gazprom, the Russian one, to the International Court of Arbitration to resolve the dispute.

Why Russian oil and gas is still flowing through Ukraine

Well now they want to impose more sanctions agaisnt Russia's oil.

When they will realize that you cant sanction a oil rich nation like Russia? its as if trying to sanction Saudi Arabia.

Its Europe that still needs the energy and its more likely Europe is the one paying for it.

Its why America still buying Nuclear Energy from Russia.

It would be bad if Russia suddenly decides to stop the Nuclear Energy from Russia to US.

Despite the conflict and war in Ukraine.

Today, American companies are paying around $1 billion a year to Russia's state-owned nuclear agency to buy the fuel that generates more than half of the United States' emissions-free energy

That's fine and all but what does it have to do with gas imports?
