Best known for everyone's favourite Aussie Matriarch, Dame Edna and the Australian Cultural Attache, SIr Les Patterson.

Went in hospital for a hip operation and never recovered.

There will be less laughter in the world tonight.

I read that he'd gone to hospital but am sad to hear of his death , he was a funny guy both as Dame Edna and as himself , with Paul O'Grady going shortly before him hilarity in Heaven is assured tonight.

RiP Barry.

I find it hilarious, that as the boys from the chaser said:

m.youtube.com...

Just cause some one is dead they are forgiven for everything they have said.

He has a hatred for transgenders like Kaitlyn Jenner, calling him a mutilated male.

www.abc.net.au...

Though he made a career dressing as a woman!!!

He also stated the only reason Downton abbey was popular in America was there were no African Americans in it.

In 2016, Humphries called gender re-assignment surgery "self mutilation"

Isn't it ?

He was a comedian but was still entitled to his opinions , people get triggered easy these days.

I get it that “it”was a comedian, though he made me cringe, as it was so old school comedy that you would have to be still believe in segregation to find it’s comedy funny.

Granted he may have opinions, though he needs to get away from his 1960’s outlook.

Though if you look into his statements they go back 39 years.

Obviously he won’t change.

Sorry, but medical transition is self-mutilation. It doesn't do what it purports to, only creating a facsimile of the bits and pieces with continuous pain and maintenance and long-term consequences and high incidence of nasty side-effects. It's no wonder there is a poor success rate and incidence of long-term happiness in the fully transitioned.

You clearly don't understand CRT as well as you seem to for a modern child of the woke world. Segregation is alive and well. What do you think a "safe space" is, and we have plenty of segregated spaces and ceremonies cropping up all over the US in the name of DEI.

Sad to hear, I really enjoyed Barry's talent.
I remember when he did 'Bruce" from "Finding Nemo". I was surprised it was him.

R.I.P. Barry
Thanks for the years of entertainment.
