I wanted to create a thread where our members could post their latest game-play videos and discuss the topic of online gaming and the latest titles coming out. Much like the mood music thread. Here you can showcase your favorite recent online recorded game, all are welcome Consoles as well as PC etc.

Also, Brag a little about your hardware if you're a PC game-box builder. Discuss the latest hardware pros and cons etc...

I've been a gamer since pong. Yes, I'm that old. My first pc purpose build was to run the then new title of Half Life. I custom built a machine that would be able to run it at max settings.

* Pentium 166 MHz
* 32 MB RAM
* OpenGL- or DirectX-compatible 3D accelerator.

I started with a very poor video card at the time a Matrox Mistake, I mean, Matrox Mystique but not long after I upgraded to a 3dfx Voodoo2 and finally a Geforce 256 card

Also I went from a puny Intel Pentium 166Mhz CPU to a juggernaut 200MMX

Also upgraded to a 13XCD-ROM and a whopping 8GB HD. It's amazing how fast hardware has improved over the past 20+ years. The next major build was a few years later for you guessed it. HL2 and Doom3 not to mention FarCry which were the big titles for the season. I was able to buy a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 Ultra. I did have my eye on ATIs latest cards but those ran hot at the time and were a bit out of my price range.

Yes, it later ran Crysis just fine.

Presently I'm running a liquid cooled AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor (16 CPUs), ~3.8GHz, 32GB Crucial Ballistix 3200 MHz DDR4 DRAM, A NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti 12 GB and combined 5TB Internal SSDs, On a MSI MPG X570S Carbon MAX WiFi Gaming Motherboard, I couldn't afford the more expensive fancier boards. I went with what my budget could allow. I spent the big money on my GPU. Which I got right before the whole BitCoin mining drove the prices sky high.

I'm glad I did, It's crushing pretty much everything out there. The only thing that dropped below 100fps was the latest "PrePatched" release of Callisto Protocol *Which owns, it was averaging 120 fps with dips to 48fps, Now that its patched. It hasn't dropped below 90FPS and I'm playing at 2056 x 1440 @ Max settings. I highly recommend checking it out.

So whats under your hood. Post pics and links.

I don’t game anymore because it gives me vertigo, but back in the day we used to have LAN parties.
We would play Age of Empires. People have no clue how much nerdy fun that could be.

And yes, I too am old enough to remember pong.
I told my daughter I used to run home to play Atari on a Black and White TV and she just looked at me in disbelief.
I told her we had to turn it to a certain channel too. It’s kinda weird to think how archaic that sounds now.

I can relate. I was getting dizzy there for a few months so I gave up gaming for a while. Then I finally went to see about getting my eyes checked. Glad I did, A new pair of peeps and I'm back in action.

Used to love playing Age of Empires and Age of Mythology games like that, Railroad Tycoon Sid Meier Sims, Sim City
and Guitar Hero, Trespasser, Battlefield, etc with my kids

Spent loads of time playing Madden, GTA, and Battlefield to AOE and AOM by myself too. Now though there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. During COVID I broke out some old games and almost got an Xbox or PS5 to play Red Dead

Idk how you guys can play online games on pc, all those damn modders.

All the off radar and god mode morons on RDO just make my blood boil… don’t think I could even deal with idiots actually using mod scripts.

I was a big CS player back in the day. Not so much these days. I haven't played too much online in a while except Co-op with a select few. Always looking for new quality players.

I'd love to build out a new gaming rig, but I have a mini rig that I built last year. Ryzen 7 5700G (no, the graphics are not good with this thing), WD_BLACK 1TB SN750 SE, a pair of Solidigm P41 Plus Series 2TB M2 drives, CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (PC4 28800), GIGABYTE B550I AORUS PRO AX, CoolerMaster MasterLiquid ML120L RGB V2, Corsair RMX Series, RM850x, GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3050 EAGLE OC 8G Graphics Card, all in an NZXT H210i.

It's not a beast by any stretch of the imagination, but it'll run just about anything I can throw at it at high settings on 1080 monitors. I'd love to rebuild my gaming rig upstairs; I just do not have the spare cash to throw at it. It was priced around $2500 or better (a lot of M2 drives).

What do I play on the little desktop? Mostly FF 14, some Raid, Occasional WoW, and whatever I can find on Steam that catches my eye.

There's a pretty good chance my wife has watched at least one of your videos. She loves those games more than any other series out there. I'm more partial to Shin Megami Tensei, but I do enjoy some Soulsborne content.

Hey you probably dont know me but ive been a long time lurker +/-15 years. Also had a different account here with a handful dozen posts and always enjoyed reading your threads. Never really been into the socialising part on forums, hence no introduction posts but since Im into gaming, pcs and awake (4am) here we go:

I bought my own first pc to be able to play Battlefield 3. Battlefield 4, 1, 5 followed. But those just got worse and worse. But I had been playing since the 90s on my parents pc and Nintendo's.

Currently my second pc you probably wouldnt match with my age; it looks like a unicorn vomiting rainbows when turned on. But I like it, it has an MSi 3080 supreme, ryzen 5 x5600 and more important to me the screen; 34inch ultrawide.. although Im already looking for bigger. That jump in width from my old screen has been the most noticible upgrade in my experience I would say, and I can highly recommend to go for something beyond 16:9 aspect ratio. I mean a jump in fps is nice, but doesnt change that much for your experience compared to more immersion and actually seeing more on your screen at any given moment.

Anyway I really like the competitive element of first person shooters, although Ive played a lot of runescape too in the past. But almost always everything online. Now Im hooked to PUBG for a couple of years now, also played a ton of Rust.

Im not much of a game hopper, when I like a game I tend to stick to it for months or years. I like the process of mastering a game more than just to try a different game every weekend. How about you?

Yep, I just can't justify the expense financially. I remember when Battlefield 1942 had an online option, I finally had a setup that could play it, and I played that for hours. FA 18 Hornet too and its prequel Hellcats over the Pacific

ROFLMAO

That deserved to be quoted. Classic.

Yeah, it's hard to avoid the whole RGB craze these days. I don't mind my keyboard changing colors at the slowest possible speed. But I avoid everything else spewing the rainbow.

I stick with a game often too. But I play and post many titles on Youtube that I've beaten over the years and presently working my way up to some of the newer titles that I've purchased. Once I've beaten and posted on my channel the game is retired. Almost done with like 5 different ones. I play, record and post what games I was in the mood to play at the time.

I don't do any video of my gaming, but this is from September, where I -almost- officially became a professional gamer :p

i.imgur.com...

For those who don't play Magic: the Gathering, this is the day I was one game away from winning $1000 (or more).

Might be a universally cathartic event!

On topic, i used to be big into CS during 1.4 and WoW pvp.

I really wish there was something close. The gear grind, the leaderboards and of course the fantasy theme.

Never found anything like wow pvp.
