It just keeps getting worse

www.cbc.ca...

as of today in Quebec big box stores like walmart, canadian tire, hardware stores have been govt mandated to control access to covid passport holders

so no vaxx No underwear at WALMART or OIL at Canadian tire. or heaven forbid an unvaxxed person needs a paintbrush from the hardware store

"In a bid to persuade COVID-19 vaccine holdouts to get the jab, Quebec has expanded the vaccine mandate to include all businesses with surface areas of 1,500 square metres or more — with the exception of groceries and pharmacies"

if unvaxxed want to use pharmacy at WALMART you must be escorted like a perp walk by an employee that may or may not be vaxxed?

For pharmacies located in big-box stores, such as Walmart or Costco, an unvaccinated person must be "accompanied at all times during his or her travels by an employee of the business, the pharmacy or any other person mandated by them for this purpose," the decree reads. This person may not purchase products other than those related to the pharmaceutical service they are receiving.

how the hell did we get here?

Legal experts are already anticipating a challenge on this. Then again, they lost the last one.

I doubt this will last long there, but never know, Quebec has always done things their own way...

They may be surprised to learn that people figure a way around it, lol.

I love how they call it "attempting to persuade". That isn't what it's called when an SO does it, in that relationship, it's called abuse.

I keep hearing people say that but the reality is that the Emergency measures act allows them to do whatever they want legally.. challenges will lose.you can always say vote em out... but the alterternative in Quebec is worse too

want a list to show just how far they've already gone?

I know, it's sick.

Quebec does have it's own form of government based on the Napoleonic Code. I'm hoping that's why they're getting crazy like this.

So far the Feds have stayed out of the mandates unless borders are involved.

Hopefully it stays that way, but I agree, it's not looking promising for our Individual Rights.

Youre the man, Jennifer

I guess they discontinued allowing a negative test except in rare circumstances.

I stand corrected.

It may only end when Canadians end it. The trick is how many are for it.

Very true.

I think that applies globally for many reasons at this point in time.

Time for real change..actual honest change without ulterior motives and power moves.

Sounds like a pipe dream at this point ffs...

It's a fact the vaccinated are catching and spreading covid, so they're deliberately putting an unvaxed person at high risk.

As long as corporation are willing to follow government mandates it won't end. A mass boycott of their products hitting them in the pocket book might convince them to stand with the people, unless the government offer is better.

The reality is, the vast majority of Canadians are vaccinated - it isn't even a partisan issue. Fat old conservatives can't get vaccines fast enough. Of the working population, I doubt more than 5% are steadfast anti-vaxxers, and maybe 1/10 of those people bother going to protests.

How the hell did we get here?

'Trump is Toast'', as heard before the ink on phoney ballots was dry.
This voice was given a megaphone. So the phoney voters would seem real.

I am so confused...

Maybe the voice was scared of being hunted down by the DNC?
Maybe scared of becoming suddenly unpopular?

Scared of losing an inside bet, a sure thing?
Scared of losing control?
Scared of losing their job as one who seeks not to govern,
but to control us?

All of the above.

Translation: it started when they took away our right to vote/speak.
Just everyone hold your nose, whilst we do away with Trump, and the Republic....
Everywhere and at the same time.

Though this phenomenon has little to do with 'Trump',
it has everything to do with us.

I was responding to a comment that said:

My point is: not many Canadians are "for" it.

An interesting comment on CBC article that you posted.

Does no one else see how they are manipulating the numbers to try and paint the unvaxd as the cause of the lock downs. (even at 100% vax rate at this point the hosp numbers wouldn't be much different) If there is 4 unvaxd people and 42 vaxd people in the hosp, with how the data is displayed on the graph, it would be displayed as if the unvaxd were the majority of the hospitalizations which just isnt the case looking at raw numbers. It is the low hanging fruit and something to distract everyone and get them upset. (instead of the real problem, little to no investment in the health care system) Removing the unvaxd at this point wont' really move the needle with hospitalizations. « less

I am starting to agree here with this comment. They are indeed looking like they are manipulating the numbers and covid data while blaming the unvaxed for a spread that was brought by the vaccinated travelers.

Even if this variant and next ones are going to be milder. Whats the reason for pushing useless passport system onto the stores when they arent going to anything nor stop the infections?

The tagline is entirely incorrect here. "Some larger stores will now require proof of vaccination" seems to be a direct attempt to shift anger away from where it belongs and move it onto the stores who really have zero say here. The fascist governments are the entities forcing the stores to comply. Alaska, conversely, has no government mandates or regulations at this time and NONE of these big box stores have required customers to have shots or even be masked in absence of those mandates... so folks in Canada really need to bring their government back to heel and do it soon. Heads should physically roll over this crap, put the fear of death back into your government or they will enslave you.

The question how many of those who are obedient to govt are willing to be vaccinated with boosting every three months?

They will only fear the population when they stop complying or the businesses that are having these useless passes run out of businesses.

The Supply Chain crisis is a example of this.
