Hoping for a guilty verdict to make your life easier? Isn't this why people don't trust police in the first place? Good lord, I would think that they would hope for the appropriate outcome to happen, I would think that would be the case in all police interactions. Unfortunately for the police departments their job may get a little more difficult because of a not guilty verdict or the case being dismissed, which is looking increasingly likely. Maybe if the riots hadn't occurred in the first place, which I will add is solely at the feet of the politicians for telling the police to stand down, we wouldn't be discussing this in the first place.

All that could happen in Chicago is a few extra shootings 🤣

What are they so worked up about?

The Chicago Police have canceled a "day off" for officers because of possible fallout from Rittenhouse verdict.

Chicago Police canceled a day off for officers because they are worried about issues from the Rittenhouse verdict. "Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara claimed decision made if 'verdict doesn't go positive"

What struck me is the statement "if 'verdict doesn't go positive". What do they mean by "go positive". To me that means that they are afraid of violence if Rittenhouse is acquitted.

The biggest question here is.....WILL the cops be able to even do anything? Seems the big city police are demanded to sit back and do nothing, so what's the point in bracing for this? What the hell are they bracing for?

That's what I am thinking! Why would there be riots over a white kid killing other white, pretty bad people?

I hope there isn't even a demonstration. Make the media & Chicago authority look like the morons they are.

What is wrong with the Police hoping for a guilty verdict so that their job of maintaining order is an easier one?

1. Because they are advocating for a guilty verdict.
2. Being a PO is not easy to begin with. If you think it is then it is the wrong job for you.
3. They should be preparing not hoping

Chicago is a warzone already. More people are killed in a hour on the average weekend than 1/6.

NOTE, THIS IS REALLY NOT WHAT I WOULD WISH FOR. but something has to be done about the left rioting, and threats of it, controlling justice. and since democrat governments refuse to deal with it, is their any other way to restore ballance anf justice, in the justice system.

what almost needs to happen, is that OF Rittenhouse is found guilty, rioting occurs, not just where the trial is, but all over the country. that may be the only way to try to bring back fair and unbiased trials. since the implied threats from years of leftist rioting and looting is weighing hard on these politically influenced trials. the fact that in the mind of each and every juror, is the thought that if they don't vote the RIGHT way (in other words the railroading the leftists demand), that more rioting and looting will occur. as well as knowing that democrats will continue to stand police down, and allow it to happen. so in order to try to reset and re balance the scales of justice, since the governments and thus the police they control have refused to deal with such violence from the left wing groups, it needs to also occur from the other side. when it becomes clear that no matter what side wins the other will riot, then you have pretty much taken the weight of them making the "wrong decision", from fear of riots off the table as a weight for finding people guilty or not guilty based on trying to stop such actions. basically taking away the power of the left's rioting to get what they want.

What really needs to happen is that aside from those directly involved in the case, all other government officials, including the Police, need to keep their fkn mouths shut and stay out of it. Let the Justice System do what it is intended to do.

If they disagree afterwards, then it's time to talk, but they all need to stay out of it and stop trying to influence others in an attempt to guide the outcome.

and you wonder why the Courts threw out all of the challenges to the 2020 Presidential Election on technicalities. They didn't want to be responsible.

What needs to happen is that the riots need to be put down quickly and forcefully.

That's actually the worst thing that can be done. Right now, public opinion is against the rioters, looters and anarchists. If the police move in forcefully, the media will portray the rioters as victims and public opinion will be swayed. This is what the anarchists want: violence from the government.

That's how Spain became socialist and I don't want to see that for the US.

Statements like this always strike me as trying to sway the verdict (even though the jury is not supposed to view anything about the case) or at least put in their political two cents about the "right" outcome of the trial.
Not sure I understand why people in Chicago will riot over a verdict of a case in Wisconsin involving the shooting of several white people by a white person. Is it more of a left/right thing this time?

Because the riots will be started by PAID instigators. Read my post about the 2020 election. It is basically extortion.

FWIW the quote attributed to the FOP Prez is from a Facebook post he made about CPD canceling RDOs. The specific bit about “verdict going positive” was him paraphrasing what he believes to be CPD’s reasoning for canceling RDOs, it’s not him saying it’s his personal belief nor his he quoting anybody in the command structure. CPD put out a statement that it’s to deal with “current crime trends.”

There very likely are a number of people in Chicago, including folks in CPD, who want Rittenhouse to be found guilty but the quote referenced in the OP is a hypothetical reason attributed to nobody in particular.

The Police have the primary responsibility of maintaining order. Justice is the responsibility of other government agencies.

Were you not taught about justice in school? Do you care or is it all about how it would effect YOU?

You think they will be forced into finding the kid guilty? over a victim that has a iffy criminal record? of course MSM never talks or mentions of the alleged and their past criminal record.
