Simply falling of the planet, that would be quite the feat indeed.

Achieving escape velocity is one of the biggest challenges we face today regarding space flight.

A rocket needs to be travelling about 11 kilometres per second, or over 25,000mph, to achieve orbit around the planet.

It's an interesting hypothesis, but I believe there's a more reliable way to secure a temporally indexed spatial locus.
