An explosion in north Lebanon shortly after midnight local time has killed 3 people and wounded 2 others. The explosion was in a mainly Christian area
or north Lebanon known as Jounieh. Sources report the explosion appears to have been a charge that was left in a shopping center, and not the work of
a suicide bomber.

BEIRUT, Lebanon - An explosion rocked a Christian area north of Beirut early Wednesday, killing at least one person and wounding two others, police
said.
A stringer for NBC News stationed in Beirut reported that three people were killed in the explosion at a shopping center outside Beirut, 1 a.m. local
time. Several more were wounded. The explosive appears to have been planted, not carried by a suicide bomber, the stringer reported.
Police had no immediate word on what caused the blast near Jounieh, the main Christian port city 10 miles north of Beirut’s center.

This would be the third blast in just over a month in country plunged into political chaos by the death of the former Prime Minister, Rafik Hariri.
This is also the second explosion in a Christian area of Lebanon in the past five days.
The other significant aspect of this bombing is the targeting of Christians. Makes me wonder if this is not the work of Hezbollah. At this time
however, no group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
