A Colorado Democrat (Kerry Donovan) thinks the state has the power to regulate the First Amendment on social media platforms to investigative whatever they deem as hate speech, fake news or conspiracy theories.
The bill sponsored by state Sen. Kerry Donovan of Vail seeks to create a new state commission appointed by the governor and granted with magical powers to regulate interstate commerce on social media used around the world.
Completely not a coincidence, Donovan just so happens to be running against U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, who is the unintended poster child of conspiracy theories.
Chief among them is the conspiracy promulgated by Democrat themselves that Boebert plotted and led the Jan. 6 insurrection.
The other favorite conspiracy theory among Democrats is that Boebert is a big believer in conspiracy theories.
Therefore, Democrats need to quash their own conspiracy theories and their fake news buddies by regulating themselves, no wait, we don’t think that’s their intention.

Bill Summary
The bill creates the digital communications division (division) and the digital communications commission (commission) within the department of regulatory agencies. On an annual basis and for a reasonable fee determined by the commission, the division shall register digital communications platforms, which are certain communications-oriented online businesses, such as social media platforms or media-sharing platforms, that conduct business in Colorado or own or operate services that are offered to Colorado residents. A digital communications platform that fails to register with the division commits a class 2 misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $5,000 for each day that the violation continues.

Progressives only want freedom. Defined as you are free to believe exactly what you are told. Just don't stray.
Include practices that promote hate speech; undermine election integrity; disseminate intentional disinformation, conspiracy theories , or fake news

Daily reminder that the idea of censorship and restricting constitutional rights is the enemy here, not our fellow Americans. But yes this proposal is unethical.

Not a big surprise.
Leftists aren't for freedom, free speech, or the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
They're anti-American, anti-Constitutional assholes.

It's Sergeant Sarcasm, actually. Some people get carried away in their knee jerk reactions and start beating up each other instead of the ball, which is why the mud pit was implemented in the first place. Balls are just so much more fun to kick when they are vulnerable organs attached to living people. Hence the friendly reminder.
