So what does a bipartisan "secessionist" movement look like?

I'm fairly liberal, and I've been listening to conservatives go on and on about wanting to secede lately. Kind of frustrating, but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea. The bottom line for us is we liberals can't get ANYTHING done in a nation that's half conservatives. No liberal or leftist wants Obamacare for instance, we all want further left universal basic healthcare, but every solution that comes out of Congress is a watered down mess because of conservatives. Everything we want to do takes a stronger state you won't accept, and we will never accept your way of being.

So what if we just admitted that it is no solution and accepted with a handshake the fact that we need to part ways? How does that play out? What does it look like?

One interesting thing is that pot legalization took states rights, once a Republican issue, and made the left embrace it. Is there a way of massively delegating power to states, maybe with new legislative bodies for the union of all blue states and the other union of all red states? I'm looking for a way that technically keeps the US together? Or would it take the end of the US?

What do you think about a bipartisan movement to begin to create areas of government so parties can get things done without opposition?

I believe that anyone that wants a divided America, is wishing for its destruction.

Some people have lost favor in the US, have become expats, and have moved to other countries. I guess that is about the only way out, while keeping America intact.

When we start slicing her up, the predators and the jackals will be rushing in to claim her carcass.

First a divided country then a civil war.

I’m cool with that

So you support a diminished roles for the states and a stronger federal government, because states making different laws is "slicing her up"?

I'm saying it doesn't have to be war.

What it looks like is large blue cities starving to death.

Which I for one welcome at this point...

Because it seems now that it is going to actually happen, secession or not.

I'm tired of being taxed to death for being successful so that deadbeats can live off of my dime.

The left has just thoroughly pissed off the people that make their cheap energy, make their food (and deliver it), the people that pump 100's of billions of dollars into the Federal coffers.

So we are just not going to do that anymore.

The balance has always been that the right builds, the left destroys.

The left protests by burning, destroying, looting, killing.

The right protests by not contributing to the system.

We use our wallets... we build.

So now we are entering a time in America where one side won't build anymore and the other side will destroy more.

I just bought a 103 inch TV so I can watch it over the next few years, since I (among many others) will just no longer participate.

Y'all have fun with that.

I'll be watching with a smile on my face.

Reaping what you have sown.

I say secede.

The left doesn't want to abide by the Constitution, individual rights.

I'll stay with the side that wants a representative republic and a government that obeys the limits set by the Constitution.

I think a better question and one you should ask yourself is...
What do liberal run cities look like right now and is that an environment you’d want for yourself and family?

Ah yes, the cities. Home if the high rise buildings, the bankers, the people who own every chain business in your little town. The beneficiaries of capitalism, the richest. THOSE cities.

They voted to triple down on that.

Let them have their dream.

We will come in after and rebuild.

We should also erect monuments of the people that made that happen.

It should be seared into the our cultural fabric for a thousand years EXACTLY what happens when you let authoritarian socialists take control.

Do they eat there, in those cities?

Use electricity there?

Drive cars there?

Do you think that city dwellers will learn to live without those things?

And for the record, there are no chain business in my little town.

All privately owned, no franchises.

No Walmart, no McDonalds, no nothing.

And we will do quite well.

Considering the attention span of today’s yute’s, I think you’re being to generous on your timetable.

I don't think that reality is going to be kind to "today's yute's."

Appreciate the My Cousin Vinny nod though...

Yeah, I wonder if they ever even been to a small town lol. The only franchise we got here is a home hardware. And it's not owned by some city slicker, it's owned by a dude that lives 3 houses over from me.

I can say unequivocally that you’re probably right. 👍

My point is you're attacking the richest businessmen in the country if you attack cities. I can't live in many cities, because so many people want to live there, housing prices are through the roof. Supply and demand.

But the larger picture is, any solution you all see is based on attacks on US citizens and their supply chains huh?

They saw a small town once in a movie so they think they can relate.

They also think that banks are in charge of energy, food production and delivery, innovation and production in America.

Nothing can happen without a banker and some consumers, I guess...

They have a rather rude awakening coming.

And the absolutely hilarious (well, to me) part is that a Biden/Harris Presidency will just hurry the process along.

I've never in my life seen so many people screaming and waving pom-poms for their own ultimate destruction.

Well.....your supply chain is a huuuuge issue. I can tell you that without my state and a few surrounding states your life would be very difficult, not to mention, extremely expensive. Hope you have a great and sustainable economy in your lil country.

Except the people that own the large factory farms will decide where their commodities are sold.
They're in business to make money and they won't shut out their largest market to please the residents of that state where the farm is located

This isn't 1860 and our differences aren't divided by region or state borders, people think we could have a civil divide in our nation so to speak. Hell, we can't decide if an election was fraudulent or not. Look at the UK trying to get out of a failed marriage it's extremely difficult to legislate separation. Especially when the two parties hate each other, and what of the people who don't have a side or who are intelligent to know separating is an incredibly stupid idea in a year full of stupid ideas. We would be weaker internationally because of this and be ripe for foreign intervention, even a peaceful transition would have serious challenges for both sides. China would likely own the blue side in under 10 years and subvert or destroy the red side within 20 years, with Russia laughing its ass off. You can fight all you want to, but secession talk is such bull # right now.

It's kinda sad, but they get what they vote for I guess. A lot of people can't even comprehend that their cities are just fancy zoos for people. Meanwhile, small towns across the US and canada have never been locked down or masked up at all, and for some odd reason, we haven't been wiped out by the ̷b̷u̷b̷o̷n̷i̷c̷ ̷p̷l̷a̷g̷u̷e̷ Covid Plague of 2020. And we even had a bunch of asshats coming from big cities to vacation this summer like normal. They were supposed to isolate for 14 days when coming from out of province, but that didn't happen.
