I started a thread here a couple of months back saying that I thought we were actually under a state of siege, an actual hostile attack by enemy actors both from without and within. Some folks here excoriated me for mentioning war, others agreed.

I count see how anyone could deny it now, but many do.

I keep hearing YouTube is a private company, but those people are idiots so don’t listen to them. YouTube is a publicly traded company. Hell I’m invested in YouTube a little, so to say the public doesn’t have a say in things is completely false because if it wasn’t for the public their company wouldn’t have any value at all.

I have signed up with almost every other alternative video site. I know that others have also found the odd one. However some people are not so savvy and it is actually hard to find them if every post that mentions them is pulled.
I still find people on YT who know nothing about Bitchute or Dailymotion or other sites and think they are new.
I will bet you that every one who answered 'I am so glad to hear there are other places' will have gone and signed up.

It's of course much slower without being able to advertise due to bannings and deletions and propagandise like YT and FB do.

In China, the ruling communist government is the absolute authority in the country. Though courts exist, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) can easily override judgments in its favor. If Beijing asks a company operating in Shanghai to hand over data of American citizens it had collected through a smartphone app, then the business has no choice but to comply with the order. Non-compliance can lead to the business being shut down as retaliation by the government.

As such, there is no real private company in China since the right of personal ownership is not absolute like in the U.S. People can own things only to the extent that the Chinese government allows. Recognizing this fact, the FIRB is screening all direct investments from China very closely.

ETA: Sounds a lot like what the Democrats did this year. Except they used a virus to choose which businesses were allowed to stay open or not..

When the narrative becomes over whelming support for 13.4% of the population to change the history of a nation and force a false narrative on the other 86.6% of the population up to and including removing statues, banning books, preaching a 1619 narrative, outright saying that blacks are dying everyday at the hands of the police, supporting the defunding of police, supporting a counter culture, encouraging the Antifa terrorist organization, driving a socialism narrative, pushing whites privilege and white guilt, employing hair brained professors to push your agendas onto the young......I’m off track....book burning and book banning is just one more slice of their plan.

It is great that you have an opinion I simply disagree with it. I caught your comment just fine it was just bitching and blaming. You said the answer is to come on here to moan and whine about it. Sorry fella that won't do anything. Everyone here already knows how bad it is you are just circle-jerking.

A lot of platforms that went woke have gone broke and shut down. More will follow. That isn't because people complained on here it is because they left and found alternatives. Free speech is something that everyone has no company can take it away nor are they required to give you a platform. Free speech is not having to worry about the government prosecuting you for what you say or believe nothing more and nothing less. If you believe differently then you are wrong. Right now free speech is alive and well on the internet. Nothing stopping you from opening your own platform except yourself.

The problem comes from certain actors active in the censorship having monopoly status which makes it harder and harder to allow for new platforms for speech.

The only one I use is youtube. A lot of my subscriptions there have accounts on Bitchute as well because a lot of their videos get pulled. I go to bitchute for those subscriptions now. Same videos and I pump up their views there. Once companies start really monetizing content on bitchute with ads you will see youtube falling out of favor. Get woke go broke.

It may take some time or it may take off once youtube crosses a line, but if youtube keeps going on the path they have set it will happen.

That is part of it but the biggest part is that they were not first or they haven't come up with something better. Myspace was big until facebook came along with a better platform. Youtube has been around forever and to beat them out by offering almost the same thing isn't going to be easy, but as more people are going bitchute to watch videos that youtube has banned it is growing faster than I would have expected.

Bitchutes platform needs some work. Right now it is not as good as youtube. If it wasn't for youtube acting the way they are it would have probably already died out.

So who gets to tell youtube what to host on their servers?

Serious question.

Youtube without a doubt has some censorship issues, but your video is hosted on YouTube. So how bad is it really when you can criticize youtube on youtube.

I heard YouTube often hides/demonitize videos that are anti-war.

At this point in American history, you don't have to burn the books because nobody reads books anymore.

And a hat tip to the Department of Education, there are a lot of Americans now that are not functionally literate.

True there are many who are illiterate, even HS graduates in the USA.

With schools forcing children to "learn" by themselves at home with no supervision - we have just born a new generation of illiterates. The schools will pass them along to hide their failure at educating them for what will end up being 2 solid years. Think of 5 and 6 year olds in poor neighborhoods with parents working hard to feed them in pay the rent, told to teach themselves to read using a computer when they can't read and no one to teach them how to use a computer.

My guess is Biden will do his best to lock down the nation and close schools until there are no more "contagious" diseases. Since the goal post was continually moving in Democratic run states and cities, from keeping the hospitals from being over run, to when there is a vaccine - the next one I expect from the Democrats will be until there is no more flu an it is eradicated and COVID is totally eradicated with not a single case reported (which will never happen).

These ever increasingly impossible bars to resuming educating children will make a generation of slaves to the government who were never taught to read or write. This creates the proverbial slave class to serve cheaply the elite classes. This is how socialism works in the real world, the elite political classes live like kings, making the rest of the population equally poor to serve the needs and wants of the elite class. This is how it works in China for sure and certain. This is how it works in socialist Venezuela where the middle class is actually starving.
