Why do people ignore math? It doesn’t lie like politicians.

I was told today that:
1+2×3=7

What do you make of that??

That some people understand BODMAS?

The calculator on my phone even says that 1+2×3=7.

When I was at school 1+2×3 made 9.

So is maths lying now?

You don’t remember hearing the term order of operations? You multiply and divide before you add and subtract.Always been that way.

Options A. Maths is lying.

Options B. You didn't pay enough attention is maths class.

Both equally probable answers.

Kudos however for correct spelling of maths however. You clearly did pay attention in English.

I was told that what was taught in school has to be forgotten when entering advanced mathematics by someone who did engineering.

The 1+2×3 question was passed around at work.......and everyone came up with 9.....except the people who have done advanced maths.
