From then until now.

The HIdden Pursuaders by Vance Packard. An expose of the manipulative nature of advertising written in 1957 which I read in high school in 65

Now, ''How America Went Haywire '' by Kurt Anderson in 2017. And expose of how the entertainment industry has capitalized on human fantasy thinking over the last 500 years.

Little, Big by John Crowley. It's the North American answer to One Hundred Years of Solitude, by Garcia Marquez, which I also love. Any and all by these two writers.

Anything by William Gibson. They are all brilliant.

The entire catalogue of Margaret Atwood. Pick any of hers up, open it, and you will be enthralled.

All the of the Bronte sisters works.

Non fiction I recommend Joseph P Farrell. He has a huge catalog.

Walter Bosley has some great titles in alternative history.

Of course there is more. This is just off the top of my head.
