After Vioxx was recalled the FDA has been more careful about the drugs they approve and what kind of warnings are to be on the product. Today the FDA
ordered that the most strict warning be placed on two skin care products, Protopic and Elidel. The FDA says that the products may cause cancer or
increase the risk of cancer in people who use it. The FDA has gotten the drug companies to investigate to see if the products really do raise the
risk of cancer or not.

The Food and Drug Administration has ordered that "black box" warnings be placed on two popular drugs used to treat the skin condition eczema. The
black box warning is the strongest type of warning that can be placed on medication. The FDA says that Protopic and Elidel may increase the risk of
cancer.
The medications are usually applied topically through a cream. A recent study on animals revealed the increased cancer risk while approximately two
dozen human cases of cancer have been discovered that may be linked with the drugs.
