I still don't get why it isn't played earlier, or on Saturday.

Nobody likes going to work with a hangover.

Meh, I only watch for the commercials. Halftime usually sucks. And hell will freeze over before the Lions ever get there. LOL

Weird , I remember when the Super Bowl were played in December.
Actually , I remember the Super Bowl before it was the Super Bowl.

U R OLD.

Bear in mind I was a young feller when I started watching....
I didn't know enough to even have a favorite team.
But I knew who Bart Starr was .

I think the other reason the OP feels so crushed by the political chaos is that for some reason today, everything has to be political.

For crying out loud, this is just a football game, and it used to be that there were some areas of life that *all* Americans could snuggle into together and enjoy regardless, but even those areas have been infected with political infighting and social justice and agendas.

Yep.

Actually, I'm only a "casual observer" of football (and sports in general), but I do pay attention, and I remember the first SuperBowl. This was a truly "American" thing. I am old enough to be able to see the bias inherent in the system.

I went to work today, didn't have a hangover. I was tired, though, because I watched the game and the ads and the half-time show... just to see what, and to be able to talk about it with others who invest a lot of time and energy and thought into these things.
