This is just awesome

St. James Infirmary in almost all its interpretations is just... sexy. A little morbid, yes but in no other country than the US this song could have come in existence.
This is Americana to me.
It's just quality that's life, life is dirty, but you make the best of it.
I don't think a song like that would be possible nowadays.
It is just a fantastic song. And the story is cool too.

Oh sorry the video doesn't work.

Watch it on YouTube pick a version you like.
I think it's fantastic to imagine it actually was a soldiers song from back then when killing was up close and personal, bloody business.
And I envision it to be the first part the soldier as in the link with prostitutes a not anymore civil war but closely after setting and he sees her "cold, pale so blue so fair" dead.

In the second part she is a healthy hot sexy ghost, mocking him dancing really sexy in a dark room, just grey with a light on her and saloon doors behind her, she wears a red dress with feathers in her hair and mocks him, because she really won't find any man anymore because she is dead.

And the third part everybody sings it, because they're all dying amongst the piles of dead bodies just getting stacked to burn them.

That would be art.

I'm not sure he looks like Dr.House to me. All these humans just look the same to me.

He did a special where he played piano and sang old jazz tunes. He’s pretty good and a huge fan of classic New Orleans Jazz.
