I found this in my yard yesterday. Not sure when it was dropped and by whom but it is not rusted and didn't look as though it has been there very long.

What is it used for.

It looks like a simple antenna with a very common, industry-standard
connector.
Nothing exotic or 'suspicious'.

I know it is an antenna but an Antenna for what? It has a connector for RG-6 Cable. It just mysteriously appeared in my yard. So yeah to me it is suspicious.

Definitely looks like an antenna. Where in your yard did you find It?

Is your yard easily accessed without actually trespassing?

Radio or TV. RG-6 is a standard.
Very common.

It didn't fall of a truck inside my fenced yard. Someone had to have trespassed for it to be where I found it.

no it is not, but it could have been thrown into the yard. Can it be used to access my wifi signal or any other type of RF signal?

Maybe someone threw it into your yard?

Did you find it near a gate at a gated community? I have seen ones almost just like that on receivers that open gates.

Could not find a pic of the one with the bend in it. They do make them though. doorking receiver

ETA- See you found it in your yard. Must of been kicked up by a vehicle driving over it or as stated above thrown into your yard.

I installed a fair share of 2G/3G repeaters and those usually have these antennas but with a plastic cover.

Peace

Thinking it might be an attachment for gas leak detection meter.

Doesn’t matter what type of metal it is. I’ve seen people use coat hangers. Besides the shape what clued me in was the red tape . That’s when the dowser knows he’s directly over what they are looking for .

Remember I’m country and know people to do that .

People hire dowsers around here to look for oil in the Cambrian basin reservoirs .

It looks like what I have on the back side of my receiver it's to pickup the tv remote.

I think the antenna may have been dropped by a utility meter reader or something as mundane.
