Maybe. Since I have the dehydrator and I can throw the meat in and ignore it until it's done, the convenience is an overriding factor. I'll go the
extra mile for pulled pork or roast chicken or turkey, but since jerky's more of a snack thing, I'm happy enough with the results ti keep it simple.
The whole point of the dehydrator for me is I don't have to fire up a grill.
Now, spatchcock, brine and smoke some chicken, then mix up a batch of Alabama white sauce a la Big Bob Gibson, and that's worth an effort.
